Yeah that was pretty much my tactic. I've heard from 2 reaches (Iowa, W&L) and got WL at both so.. you never know what will happen I guess.
I guess that's not so bad, if you are willing to wait, try your best to get off them. At least you know they are keeping around. Since the consensus is that this cycle will be a little gentler, you may have a better chance as they may just be conservative.

Good luck!

Yea I applied to 19 schools, looking for good scholarship offers. Also, it never hurts the ego to get 19 (hopefully) acceptance letters :)

So far:
Tennessee: Accepted
W&L: Accepted
Michigan State: Accepted (full scholarship)

By the way Barbie, I'm pretty sure we applied to like 10 of the same schools... Which is awesome

Dude, why did you apply to WL and MSU? They are on completely different spectrums...not really a big deal, just interesting.

I applied to 14 schools around Halloween. So far I've been accepted to W&M and held for regular decision by Texas (originally applied under non-binding ED).

Ive only heard from Penn State so far, and I think that is because I wrote a convincing Why Penn State essay. Waiting for everyone else. Applied throughout Nov.

I'm with you on both counts. Also in at GULC, did you apply there?

Haha yeah. I applied right after Duke waitlisted me. I started to question my whole cycle and decided I needed a couple more safetyish schools. Hopefully I'll hear back before Christmas.

Also, have you gotten the acceptance packet from Michigan yet? I've heard it's chock-full of awesomeness, and it's pretty likely I'll end up there. (Unless an inebriated Stanford admissions person inadvertently accepts me.)

Yes, my dad received it sometime around the 12th, or something. He mailed it to me several days later and I just got it last week. It IS awesome. Especially the inclusion of the zip drive, which just seems, excessive in a good way - especially after GULC's boring acceptance.

I'll most likely end up at Michigan as well, unless some inebriated Boalt admissions person inadvertently accepts me

I am an out of state splitter. I hear they don't like us non-texans, especially the ones with sub median GPA's.

I am sure you will get better offers from other T14. Can't believe you applied to as far down as UF. Fishing for full rides? :) good luck!
