Re: Penn 2011
Hmmm..r6_philly, I think they may be using an index to sort through applications? I submitted 10/13 and am not UR yet, but this individual is.seancooksey07 wrote:Checking in as UR as of 11/29. Submitted ~10/14
Edit: I am RD in case that wasn't clear.
On the other hand, the excel sheet dulacatis put together shows people hearing back around the same time if they applied around the same time, so it makes me think that maybe they are just going in order but perhaps ranking apps so as to look at auto-admits first. (My #s are weak compared with poster above)

I just checked mine and I'm UR as of today (11/29). I went complete on 10/11.

All likely admits so far? How soon do you think the first decision will come out? 2 weeks?

I switched from ED to RD so I was UR at 11/9. Since I withdrew from ED, my date hasn't changed. I hope they didn't just toss my app in the trash

Let's hope? Unless they completely buck the trend from last year, they should be coming out with them in about 2 weeks.r6_philly wrote:All likely admits so far? How soon do you think the first decision will come out? 2 weeks?

Re: Penn 2011
I see that there are a lot of RD applicants' getting anxious about dates. Why? ED applicants have not received decisions yet. Is there anyway that RD will be accepted before ED? Do schools release RDs' that close to EDs'?
I am an ED applicant and my nervousness has been compounding daily. Penn is a reach for me...
I can't wait for a decision.
Oh and.....
Dear Santa,
All I would like for Christmas to be accepted to the University of Pennsylvania, so I can withdraw my other applications.
Thank you,

A lot of schools send them at the same time or some even RD before ED. It looks like in the past Penn has done both at the same time.

Re: Penn 2011
Not among CCN (and obviously no ED at HYS or B), but Michigan, Duke, and Georgetown have all released regular decisions before early decisions. I don't know if Penn is known for it, but one can always hope one year'll break the trend.phoenixwright83 wrote:I see that there are a lot of RD applicants' getting anxious about dates. Why? (Also, I didn't include UVA on that list because I have no idea what's going on there... just a huge disparity between OOS, IS, ED, RD, URM, non-URM, etc. in hearing back)

Well, if they continue the trend from last year, they'll send out a batch of RD decisions around Dec 15th. Even if ED people hear tomorrow, that's only 2 weeks behind...

Wed).hellojd wrote:Well, if they continue the trend from last year, they'll send out a batch of RD decisions around Dec 15th. Even if ED people hear tomorrow, that's only 2 weeks behind...

I'm a deferral from last cycle, but I look forward to some of you being my future classmates! Anyhow, Penn Law has a twitter page now and according to a tweet from few days ago:r6_philly wrote:How soon do you think the first decision will come out? 2 weeks?

The Admissions Committee will not be meeting this week, thus no decisions will be made or released. In fact, no decisions will be released prior to December 8, 2010. Have a safe and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday.
I'm not sure how much this helps, but it looks like maybe something will take place on the 8th.

Some people are going under review, so they're at least in the office doing something. I bet this was more applicable to last week though, so now they're starting to review files for the first batch of acceptances. Hopefully...wackyjack22 wrote:The Admissions Committee will not be meeting this week, thus no decisions will be made or released. In fact, no decisions will be released prior to December 8, 2010. I'm also assuming that this was in regards to last week, but what is with the December 8th date? Could they send decisions that quickly? That's next Wednesday correct? I'd be pumped to hear back that soon, though I'm not sure I stand a chance at Penn.r6_philly wrote:I like your thinking!law_monkey wrote:Some people are going under review, so they're at least in the office doing something. Re: Penn 2011
It was for last week. School was closed until today. Last year the first decision came out on a wed. by phone for ED applicants 12/9, and first RD decision on Mon 12/14. So 12/8 is right on schedule, and maybe the first RD will come 12/13. If the first batch of RD apps only went under review today, then anyone that went UCR today should have a good chance of hearing back starting 12/13. Fingers crossed!wackyjack22 wrote: I'm also assuming that this was in regards to last week, but what is with the December 8th date? Could they send decisions that quickly? Do you have to withdraw all of your applications if you are accepted as an ED applicant? What if you just want to know where you would have gotten in?
