but, I also got that courtesy (your status checker is coming) email today

I'm really hoping they don't review my application for a couple weeks at least.

I have scoured last years SLS admits and cannot find how they contact you. Does Dean Kramer call? Do you get an email/snail mail box?
I already have my 'list' of area codes sitting by my desk at work to watch out for
(sad but true)
I am fully resigned to a long review process if necessary and am hoping I don't turn into a raging alcoholic while I wait...

Put admissions out of your consciousness. Schools admit people at strange times, and SLS is notorious for making people wait.LawLucy wrote:I have scoured last years SLS admits and cannot find how they contact you. Does Dean Kramer call? Do you get an email/snail mail box?

Anyway, Dean Deal will call you, typically (but not always) from an unknown number.

Earlier today, at about 6:30 here (so getting close to closing time at Stanford), I received a phone call from an unknown number. I almost had a panic attack.BioEBear2010 wrote:Put admissions out of your consciousness. Haha, I don't think they start making acceptances until December. Yeah, I didn't really expect it...my senses reacted before I could think about it logically.Knock wrote:Haha, I don't think they start making acceptances until December. I was just wondering about your thoughts on whether or not Stanford may be more inclined to wl/reject because you don't seem to have a connection to ca. Is there any truth to this?

I don't think they care. They are not a state school. Even the UCs supposedly don't care that much. However, I have heard that employers in CA often want to see a connection to CA.123kl wrote:I was just wondering about your thoughts on whether or not Stanford may be more inclined to wl/reject because you don't seem to have a connection to ca. Your median LSAT and at/above median GPA, i'd say you have a shot. Probably depends on what softs/diversity you can bring to the school, as there are no numbers that are sufficient solely by theirselves for acceptance.lkk wrote:170/3.88

Re: Stanford Law School 2011 Applicants (Pics)
Not sure, i've heard a lot of conflicting information. I've heard that Stanford doesn't care really past median LSAT, but I couldn't imagine it would hurt your application. I guess no one really knows, but seeing how Stanford is known for putting a lot of value on GPAs relative to other T-14 schools, a retake (and improvement obviously) probably wouldn't strengthen your application package as much at S compared to other schools that value the LSAT more heavily, such as Columbia.lkk wrote:Do you think a retake may help?Knock wrote:Your median LSAT and at/above median GPA, i'd say you have a shot.
