I am RD, but I don't think WUSTL has an ED program. They have Early Action but it is limited to their UG students.Amir N wrote:Question for those folks In Review: did you apply early and/or do ED?

Oh, and we've also plucked two very strong professors away from UNC in the last couple of years too. So recently:ihp12 wrote:I've written and erased five different theories on this question, but here goes....
You've gotta figure that since rankings are relative, WUSTL will have to improve at the expense of another school, or a combination of other schools. What schools might it rise against?
Iowa to WUSTL
Hillary Sale (expert in Securities Regulation)
Peggie Smith (expert in Employment Law)
UNC to WUSTL
Marion Crane (expert in Employment Law)
Scott Baker (expert in Law & Economics)
And we just got Tamahana, too.

I applied in early September, so that could help explain why I am under review since 11/1Amir N wrote:Question for those folks In Review: did you apply early and/or do ED?

Mine is also in review.
And under the fees column, it says first deposit: 00, second deposit: 00.
What does that mean?

The seat deposits have no meaning until you are admitted. If you desire to attend WUSTL after you are admitted you will need to reserve your seat in the class by paying two seat deposits.alanbfish wrote:Mine is also in review.

It's a good school that tends to give out that sweet cash money to us splitter-types. Also, I live in St. Louis. Also also, fee waiver.soccerfreak wrote:Open question: Why Wash U?

Seems to have a hightened focus on advocacy, which interests me.
It also receives a small bump on my list relative to its peer schools b/c St. Louis has a public rail that runs right by the school, the airport, downtown, and some other cool areas. Also the school is next to a huge park.

Is St. Louis appealing to those from the Northeast? I've lived in two big NEern cities - can I get along okay in the midwest?

Also, I was really impressed with the school, faculty, administration and students when I visited.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
This is a huge benefit. My car battery died about a month and a half ago, but I haven't needed my car since because of the train. I'll probably get it replaced after this semester is over and once the winter comes. You can carry your bike on the train, too, so in the mornings, I bike to the train stop, ride across the length of the park, and it takes me about 20 minutes total to get into the school after locking up my bike and everything. No need to spend $500 for a campus parking pass.ihp12 wrote:Seems to have a hightened focus on advocacy, which interests me.

The train is also totally free for WUSTL students. It goes downtown, but the bad part is that the last train leaves downtown at 12:20am, so if you're planning a late night downtown, you'll need to cab it back.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
You can get a WUSTL student pass -- it doesn't cost any money. Only certain schools around here have that deal. I don't think SLU does, but UMSL does and another smaller local college does. So, yes, the train is free if you go to WUSTL.kk19131 wrote:The train is free?JCougar wrote:This is a huge benefit.
