There was ONE non-URM, non-nontraditional person with a GPA of 3.15 or below and an LSAT of 161 or below who got money at Pitt based on the very graph you cite...

I agree, chances are very good to get money. They'll probably have to negotiate. That's what I did, and I got $$, my gpa was under 25% and my lsat was over 75%.Barbie wrote:lolwut????BarbellDreams wrote:I feel like you'll get in but not with much , if any, scholly help.
163/3.1 I would wager is SURE money from Pitt.

I totally read that as a 161 and not a 163. With a 163 I think you're in and with some scholly money.

I applied to Pitt in the middle of October and hate feeling like it will take forever to hear from them. I grew up in the Pittsburgh area and would probably love to attend Pitt.

Would a 3.36/157 have to apply ED for a shot at Pitt? I have a publication and am a Biochemistry major. Thanks!

Re: Pittsburgh 2011
You're a hard case. On one hand, your GPA is at median, but your LSAT is one under 25%. On the other, biochemistry is certainly harder than history. I think an ED would definitely help your chances, but I don't know by how much.jdhakert wrote:Would a 3.36/157 have to apply ED for a shot at Pitt? I have a publication and am a Biochemistry major. Are you in-state?

No I'm out of state (Texas). I love how the IP program at Pitt sounds, plus Pittsburgh is a great tech city. I just don't know what to do. I am literally sending in my application within the hour, as soon as I decide to apply ED or not.

Re: Pittsburgh 2011
I would say if it's your top choice, you're comfortable living in Pittsburgh after graduation, you're comfortable not getting scholarship money, and you won't retake to get a higher score, then ED. There's definitely a lot of great things about Pitt, I'm just wary of paying full tuition anywhere.jdhakert wrote:No I'm out of state (Texas). Would love to go to Pitt, but have a 2.87/166...is it worth the effort applying? Would writing a personal statement directly for Pitt improve my chances at all? Thanks for the help.
I'm from Miami (I know, sounds crazy, but itching to get out of here).

That LSAT should slide you right in there. You might even get a few $$$.Cmart050 wrote:Would love to go to Pitt, but have a 2.87/166...is it worth the effort applying? Would writing a personal statement directly for Pitt improve my chances at all? Thanks for the help.

Per LSN the first set of acceptances came out the week of Thanksgiving and into the first week of December. So it looks like we're waiting for at least two more weeks.yellowmellow wrote:Does anyone know when we can expect to start hearing decisions? I applied Oct. 1st and am trying to wait patiently

Re: Pittsburgh 2011
I had numbers just slightly higher than that and I got in regular decision, no waitlist. I had a (according to everyone that read it anyway) killer personal statement that I attribute my acceptance entirely to. Moral of the story is that you definitely have a shot, but make sure to taylor everything to Pitt and work on the PS.jdhakert wrote:Would a 3.36/157 have to apply ED for a shot at Pitt?
