Re: Notre Dame 2014 applicants
I'm well above the LSAT 75% and probably below their 25% GPA. I didn't do a "Why ND" essay. I'm wondering how they'll treat me as well.

Checked out last year's acceptance threat, looks like the first had already heard by this time last year.

According to the previous years on TLS and LSN acceptances come in huge envelopes packed with stuff. Checked the mail and there was a massive envelope, nearly passed out. Unsolicited info from BU.

Knowing that I am unlikely to be admitted actually makes me less anxious about hearing from ND. I applied so that I wouldn't have to ask myself "what if!?"wildcathighfive wrote:sadly, i'm getting panic attacks from seeing this thread rise to the top of the forums. i wish we would just get mail from them alreadyyyyy.angiej wrote:Ugh - I got that too. According to LSN the 1st wave of responses were posted on the 12th-tomorrow, and generally arrived on the 14th.

Last year ND had EA, though, and this year ED. I wonder if that will change things at all...andythefir wrote:According to LSN the 1st wave of responses were posted on the 12th-tomorrow, and generally arrived on the 14th.

it looks to me like they sent out a wave of decisions on 11/02 last year

Re: Notre Dame 2014 applicants
Last year's data points are officially worthless, no one on this thread has received any word (unless they're holding out) and the only data point on LSN is from last year. A year ago there had been 2 waves of notifications. Maybe we should take the 4-8 week thing seriously?

Maybe the new ED means a delayed review process for everyone? Not even ED applicants have received word.andythefir wrote:Last year's data points are officially worthless, no one on this thread has received any word (unless they're holding out) and the only data point on LSN is from last year. Re: Notre Dame 2014 applicants
I've been watching the ND website like a hawk for 3 years, every year they say to expect it by December 15th just like the LSAT says to expect results a few days after you actually get them. My impression is that there are way fewer ED applicants compared to previous years, maybe they're deciding them all at the same time because there aren't as many?

Re: Notre Dame 2014 applicants
My theory on NOtre Dame's delay...in order that I think it may be possible is:
1) They did not get nearly as many ED applications as they had hoped (being the first time it is binding) and there probably are very few of these applications that are of the quality to admit them early--therefore, they will wait until December to admit the few ED admits along with mnay of their highest quality applicants in early to mid December (why only admit 5-10 people if that is all that they will admit via ED which is probably close.
2) They are restructuring their scholarship awards and offering different numbers to different people and want to see more applications than they normally do before admissions (in the past it seemed that no matter if you were 175.3.9 or 167/3.6 you got the same 18-20k scholly per year...maybe they will now offer 1/4, 1/2, and full awards??? Who knows but that would make sense as to why they would wait to see a bigger proportion of the pool.
3) Apps are way down or way up....figuring out what to do
Just my ideas as to why ND seems to be behind in comparison to the past.

Re: Notre Dame 2014 applicants
Why do you say there is a delay? The first large batch of decisions last year came in the second week of December. I applied in the first week of October; I'm not expecting to hear anything until the week of Dec. 6.
