I certaintly don't have limitless sums of wealth, but in Boston my shitty basement apartment ran me $1000 a month. I have paid more for slightly nicer ones too. From what I hear, this will go a long way in Philly.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I think $1075 was the least I ever paid when I was living alone.

Second Edit: This makes me excited, but then I have to remind myself I haven't gotten in yet.

Hahaha, more limitless than that. The Sansom price for a 1 person full apartment (which is all I'd want--not looking for any roomates) is around $1200. Radian is around $1550 (but with more amenities, and this is, again a full, furnished apartment). Domus is...somewhere off in the more than $2000 range I think. They don't list a rent on the website--at least not the last time I looked.

That being said, there's a ton of housing around Penn, so you can do better than the private apartment complexes designed for student living if you want to trade amenities for cash.

I don't know why you would pay that much in university city though. You could just walk an extra block or two and get something much cheaper.

*intends to live like a prince until the real world* I'm not saying that it's the cheapest route, just the one I'd rather. Where I live is important to me, I'm a sucker for aesthetics.

some of the older row houses in west philly are gorgeous, and the buses take you right to the law school. a lot of them have been bought up on sansom st and have been totally refitted with high-end finishes. i've seen a few - they're really nice, big enough to live in with roommates and not feel cramped, and are cheap.

[Two years ago] I received scholarship info over my spring break (so sometime in mid-late March I think).

Penn is so attractive to me and seems way more chill than the other schools - hopefully they throw me a scholly bone!

If it were possible to check my email more compulsively than I already do, I would be doing so starting now.

This x1000. I just looked at a debt repayment calculator and went  . With money, I would very likely take them over my other two top choices.

I just got an email that I was nominated for the James Wilson scholarship! Does anyone know hard it is to get once you've been nominated?
