I think that many people (like me ) will just never get approved for a private bank based student loan. I can't see a situation where I'll get one. I am not saying they are wrong to do so but in this financial climate to get approved for a loan product of any kind is a very hard thing (this will prob apply more to older students who are completely independent from their parents) which is why grad plus is still the best (and only) option for many of us
You never know unless you apply. I'm considering applying for one of these without a cosigner. I highly doubt I'll get it, but I would hate myself for not at least trying to save ~$5000 in origination fees and then oodles more in interest.

That's true, but knowing where I'm at with my credit report I don't see myself getting approved for anything that is based on my credit score

I talked with a guy, he had no clue about anything with student loans (1% interest common? Really)

We'll talk to their student loan area on Monday.

God that'd be awesome to have a 1% interest rate. I'm still MAF the subsidized stafford loan is gone.

at least I think it took some part in dwindling down the applicant number so pros and cons. cons to whoever was going to law school anyway

so, everyone posting on here regularly has already been accepted to WUSTL? I'm one of the unfortunate (and increasingly more uncomfortable) hopefuls for news of admission... anyone else? If ASW is next week... maybe I'll know soon.

Stafford I can deal with. Grad Plus...not so much.

If I can get the Grad Plus eliminated or replaced with a better loan, that would be huge.

Would taking a private loan instead of grad plus interfere with lrap programs or income based repayment plans?
