I actually think I'm going to pursue this thing with georgetown further.... I attached a diversity statement about a disability I have with my application. I know this seems BS, but when I am the only person with my numbers who has been rejected that suggests discrimination.
Youre kidding right?!! You are at the LSAT median with a first score in the 150s, and way below the 25th for GPA. This should not be THAT big of a surprise for you.

Nope. Discrimination is illegal and when they let in everyone else with my numbers or at least waitlisted them they've got a burden of proof.gobears09 wrote:sibley wrote:Interminable_Waiting wrote:I'm sorry you got bad news Sibley. Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
What about the fact that is clearly stated on their website that you are a below average candidate? A couple of data points on LSN, a self selecting group, does not prove anything, and there are people with numbers higher than yours that were rejected. Its one thing to be upset about rejection but youre taking it to an absurd level.sibley wrote:Nope. This chick is crazy. I don't remember the exact argument, but there was something in the UC hastings thread a few months ago where she said similarly stupid things. + her avatar annoys me

your being a little ridiculous. The school can and has all the right to reject you for not liking your personal statement or anything else in your app. Not to mention they seemed to have drawn a pretty harsh line under a 3.4.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I really am sorry guys, and I don't want to get too overly sentimental, but you guys really have made all the waiting and speculating easier. One of my worries about law school was that all the people would be pretentious, mean, and just all around douchey, and a lot of other threads on this board have been full of people who only reaffirmed my fears. But you guys: quality.
Anyway, I am still UR 3/23... I am pretty sure I'll be getting my ding next week. Once we go DR I am sure there will plenty of discussion. Let the games continue for us poor saps who still haven't tasted the pain of GT rejection.

You should get in touch with those others I listed and see if they have your exact same condition. If so, BAM you got them.sibley wrote:Torvon wrote:sibley wrote: Nope. Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
sibley have you checked their policy on multiple LSATs? They say on the website that they average the scores. That may be why you do not fit into the pattern you're trying to establish.
How are multiple LSAT scores assessed? For reporting purposes, Georgetown adheres to the ABA policy of reporting the higher LSAT score. For evaluation purposes, the Georgetown Admissions Committee typically averages LSAT scores. Georgetown may consider the higher LSAT score if you have only taken the LSAT twice. Please address any mitigating circumstances you feel the Admissions Committee should consider.

Hey sibley... I'm sorry u got dinged. I was really hoping u would get it. Even if I didn't. Gtown is missing out letting u go. Ur personality somehow shines through even the internet. That's something. Thanks for all the moral support.
thanks... what are you planning on doing? wasn't it right near you?
No. Right now, I'm sitting in a hotel in downtown New Orleans after having attended the first day of the ASD weekend for Tulane. I love this school. GT was a dream, but I'm really excited about the possibility of coming here. But, I'm partly glad that the decision was made a little easier today.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I only took the LSAT twice and my disability explains my original low score, plus the 12 point jump tends to cause schools who do average to not.chutzpah wrote:sibley have you checked their policy on multiple LSATs? I'm still crossing my fingers for Northwestern (doubtful, but they put the greatest emphasis on WE), but if I end up doing Illinois with money, then that's not bad. I can wish I had done better my first semester in college (last 7 were 3.8+), or that I had taken the LSAT again (scored a 167, PT scores were 169-173, didn't have the money for a retake), but I'm excited for the opportunities that I will have in the future. I'm sure all of you have lots ahead of you, too.
I'll say this - Georgetown's mistake will be someone else's gain in many cases here. You're good people.
