I know there's a housing thing, but that is all I've heard of. I actually don't know if I'm gonna bother coming back to Cleveland for it though, since I'll be home in NY this summer. But, I will be around I guess for the next month, try to look for housing now.nick637 wrote:Is something going on in June for all admitted students? This page lists an entering students day on June 11 but I haven't heard anything else about it.

I'll probably be there for the housing fair. I don't want to wait that long to secure housing, but I don't know if between now and June I will be able to find anything I like that is willing to wait until August 1st. I've found a ton of cool lofts not too far from the campus. What I really want is a loft-style apartment above a store, but that may be a little too picky for craigslist. Do you Clevelanders have any suggestions?snowpeach06 wrote:I know there's a housing thing, but that is all I've heard of. What is a typical month's rent for a loft in cleveland?roguey wrote:I'll probably be there for the housing fair. I remember someone posted a link to a statistics site where it showed OCI and grade information. According to that site a 3.15 was a little under the top half.nick637 wrote:thats what i saw, another admitted students day. does anyone know where I can find information about grading practices? They range from super cheap to super expensive. I found one building that used to be a school where they started around $395, and they looked really really cool. --LinkRemoved--. There are more. I found most between $700 and $900, which is a little higher than the "under $750" I want to achieve.nick637 wrote:What is a typical month's rent for a loft in cleveland?roguey wrote:I'll probably be there for the housing fair. They are only about 7 minutes from Case in the "artsy" area of St. Clair Superior. --LinkRemoved-- <--- It is google maps. Of course, I don't know much about Cleveland, but I've heard that the area is covered in old warehouses turned into artist lofts.snowpeach06 wrote:Wow, I thought I wanted a roomie, but those lofts do look really cool.roguey wrote: They range from super cheap to super expensive. Re: Case Western 2010
Does anyone know what the parking situation is like on campus??? I live off campus in undergrad now and wish I didn't because it takes me at least 15 minutes to find a spot every day... which is why for LS I was thinking I wanted to live within walking distance-- to avoid this hassle. Are spots available close to the LS building?

They told me there are three garages that are all about the same distance from the law building. I was told about a 5-10 minute walk. There is also a campus shuttle, but I don't know much about it.alannak wrote:Does anyone know what the parking situation is like on campus??? Nick - Let me know how it is. I think I'm lured in by all the talk of artists and ethnic food. http://www.nhlink.net/neighborhoodtourn ... r-superior

I don't know if it is just me, but top 25% = median according to NALP. Is no that not quite high? Usually medians are lower I thought...roguey wrote:I think that's what I saw. I sort of think I remember at the ASW the dean saying that the curve for the 1st year is different and harsher than for the 2nd and 3rd years-- so the NALP data would reflect the grade distribution for the whole school right? I think?

Top 25% cannot be the median GPA unless everyone from 25% - 50% shares the same GPA. One of the two numbers on NALP is misplaced.charlesjd wrote:I don't know if it is just me, but top 25% = median according to NALP. Is no that not quite high? That confirms that Case places mostly outside Ohio - even 'better' than last year. Where'd you get the info? Did you buy it?charlesjd wrote:USNWR Newest Career info:

Re: Case Western 2010
Ok. Now I'm worried about the scholarship. I asked Tonya how many students lost their scholarships after the first year on average, and she said "none." Turns out, this is the first year they have had gpa stipulations. Before this year, all scholarships were guaranteed. They changed it because each year the top 10% was made up of non-scholarship students, and those with scholarships didn't try as hard as they think they should. According to her, "If you got the scholarship, then you can get that GPA. A 3.15 is not that hard for students to get." Still scares me that we are guinea pigs.

Yeah, I was going to buy it anyways, so I just decided to get the online version. 46% in state. I believe it was 47 or 48 last year.
It is so ironic that Case has better numbers than higher ranked schools I was contemplating such as IU-B and Iowa.
I am happy with my choice!
If only Case would drop their PT program, raise their medians, and lower acceptance to under 40%, they would be a T50, maybe even T40 based on their 3.3 peer score.
