Did anyone else receive the handbook today via snail mail? The cover letter said there would be a one-page insert in the handbook regarding a change in the grading policy for first-year students, but my handbook had no such insert.

I posted in the other thread as well to respond but I'll respond here too, I also did not receive an insert in the handbook.

Got this as well. Looked for the insert and didn't find it either lol. "Dear Admitted Student" in the letter seemed so impersonal, but maybe that's just compared to other schools' materials I've received.TipTravHoot wrote:Did anyone else receive the handbook today via snail mail? I received something (that I'm pretty sure is the handbook) at my permanent address, which is about 200 miles west of where I live. Soo.... I won't find out until Monday what exactly they sent me. Oy.
PS: I have not put my deposit down yet.

Anybody know how safe/nice the housing is over in the Chittenden Road area. or anywhere east of High Street? Also, would you recommend north or south campus to find housing? I found an 1100 sq. ft. 1 bedroom for $695/month and I'm thinking that sounds pretty nice. It's about a mile north of the law school on high st. a little past B-dubs, anybody familiar?

East of High St can be hit or miss.
South of 2nd Ave, it's all Italian Village and very nice.
Between 2nd Ave and 11th Ave, it's kind of sketchy.
North of 11th, is the campus student ghetto. Safe enough, but with the problems that come with living in the student ghetto (noise, vandalism, etc)
I'd feel safe living anywhere east of high, but I imagine it takes a little less for me to feel safe than it does for others.

Please bring your husbands hot single friends to law school with you. If I'm the only single person at Moritz I might go nuts!ticklememauve wrote:I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that none of us are that "annoying couple" who ignores everyone else when the significant other is around. So, I'm sure there will not be a third/fifth/however-many wheel in any situation. I mean, I love my husband--but I'm looking forward to meeting new people. WOO!

I'm going to work. I can't really afford not to, but I'll hopefully move to Columbus at the beginning of the summer and can settle in well before school starts. I may try to get away for a week to a beach somewhere and will almost certainly try to get some fishing and golf in this summer.baboon309 wrote:What do you guys gonna do before the school start?

You could've stuck around Iowa for another night and met me...not that it would help you at Moritz, though...robin600 wrote: Please bring your husbands hot single friends to law school with you. If I'm the only single person at Moritz I might go nuts!

Nope. I've just always rooted for tOSU football (but that's not why I chose to go to law school there.baboon309 wrote:Didn't you go to tOSU for undergrad?TipTravHoot wrote:I'm going to work. FYI decisions for all February applicants who have not received a decision will be sent out today or tomorrow at the latest according to the lady I just spoke to on the phone. She said the people in charge of updated things online are at a conference right now so we might hear something tonight or by this time tomorrow. Really hope I get in...

Just got in by phone call. I had just called them (see previous post) I am really excited and if I get some money I will be a Buckeye for sure. If not, probably will be anyway.

I just bought the tickets so I'm excited: I'm going to Peru for a couple of weeks in July/August. YAY! It's an 8-month late honeymoon--expect not very honeymoon-y. Other than that, I'm not sure what I'll do before August. My work contract ends on June 1st. Ay yi yi.baboon309 wrote:What do you guys gonna do before the school start?

It should be in your letter that you got when you were first admitted. You check a box stating you accept admittance, write a check or do a money order, and put it in the envelope they include.
