About a mile from UT Law, so that might have impacted how quick my turnaround was. My package was postmarked 11/16 and my letter was postmarked 11/24.

Phone call on a Monday, acceptance packet that Thursday, scholarship the next Saturday. Nine days between and not near Texas.

My scholly offer was dated 5 days after my acceptance call. Arrived right on the tails of my packet. UT-A is looking pretty amazing right now.

I have to say that UT's admissions impressed me, but Duke's PT invite was better.

I'm a senior at Bama and I've been accepted to and will probably attend UT next year... This doesn't look to end well for me.

How is that not a good ending? Get to attend a great law school and also get to cheer whenever both teams score (but you shouldn't mean it when 'bama scores or else we will be gunning for you).

Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search to no luck. My status checker says "Complete," but under that is says "You are currently being considered for regular decision." So does that mean I'm under review? Or when I'm under review, will "Complete" go away?

As far as I know, it doesn't change until a decision has been made. It says under the status updates (at least what mine says) "admission was granted on ___." I don't believe there is an under review update.

Status Updates
Your JD application was processed on XXXXXX, 2009
and is currently being considered for Early Decision

Does that mean I am under review? How long does it usually take for decision?

I am eagerly waiting since I haven't heard back from any schools yet

Yeah, seems like things are tougher this year. This was the email:

Thank you for your application to The University of Texas School of
Law. Upon initial review of your application, the Admissions Committee
has decided to hold your file for additional consideration with the
general applicant pool. Your status as a "hold" should not be viewed
as a denial, a deferral, or an invitation to the waitlist.

The Law School received approximately 1,500 files for Early Decision,
and while the Admissions Committee was able to make final decisions
on the majority of the files, there are some, yours included, that
we would like to consider with the general applicant pool before we
make a final decision. I anticipate that you will have a final decision
by April at the latest. I understand this delay may be inconvenient,
but I assure you that we will do our best to finalize your decision
as soon as possible.

Again, thank you for your patience, and we appreciate your continued
interest in The University of Texas School of Law.

I submitted my app online last week. Got an email this morning saying my app has been received. Do they send you a link to the status checker? I wasn't aware Texas had one. Thanks!

Yeah, they send you a status checker about a week later. This can vary.

That is unfortunate, but I bet its for YP purporses (they--like me-- assume you will get into a higher choice school). If you really have your heart set on Texas I'm sure you will get it in RD, but general knowledge is to send in a LOCI that way they have to bring up your file one more time and show your dedication.

This is a very surprising decision, as I was accepted with nearly identical numbers but in state. I guess being in state really makes a difference, but fret not because you will get your call eventually. Good luck.
