The only thing that I can think of is that I wrote my PS about a semi-controversial subject. I am very anti-death penalty; I currently work in a firm whose sole purpose is to defend death-sentenced inmates, and I plan to defend death-sentenced inmates for my entire career. Maybe they just want to find out why I want to go to Gtown, considering they don't have a death penalty clinic or anything?

I'd assume the interview is more likely to just prove you can tie your shoes and string together a sentence, rather than to astound them into admitting you. I suppose it might also be a chance to show commitment, but I think that's usually overestimated by 0Ls.

I'm only 2 hours away from DC, but they offered an alumnus in town that I could interview with. Yeah, I'm going to do it. I guess it's better than getting dinged!

All interviews last cycle were with local alumni and mostly given to splitters.

I know a few people who were asked to interview last year... I think it's pretty standard for Gtown for splitters and people with borderline numbers.

status went to decision rendered on monday. I'm in PA. I liked the cute handwritten note at the bottom.

Just got my acceptance letter via FedEx!! That's another school that was kind enough to ensure that I didn't have to wait the age it would take for regular mail to reach me (I'm an international applicant from Asia). I really liked the personal note from Dean Andy, he specifically referenced my PS!

RD, Application Submitted 10/26, Under Review 10/29 (changed to 11/5), Decision Rendered 11/9

I know I should go through this whole thread to figure this out but... what is a DR, and does moving from "Complete" to "Under Review" mean a decision is coming soon? I went complete late October.
