I hadn't heard of that, but I guess it's a chance to really impress them. Plus, it's definitely better than not hearing anything. Maybe they just can't wait for their ASW?thorntll wrote:Has anyone else been asked to interview? Why didn't they like me enough to just let me in?!

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
The only thing that I can think of is that I wrote my PS about a semi-controversial subject. I am very anti-death penalty; I currently work in a firm whose sole purpose is to defend death-sentenced inmates, and I plan to defend death-sentenced inmates for my entire career. Maybe they just want to find out why I want to go to Gtown, considering they don't have a death penalty clinic or anything?summerschooled wrote:I hadn't heard of that, but I guess it's a chance to really impress them. I'd assume the interview is more likely to just prove you can tie your shoes and string together a sentence, rather than to astound them into admitting you. I suppose it might also be a chance to show commitment, but I think that's usually overestimated by 0Ls.

I have no clue why I was asked. But, for some odd reason, I enjoy interviewing so it shouldn't be too bad.thorntll wrote:The only thing that I can think of is that I wrote my PS about a semi-controversial subject. I'm only 2 hours away from DC, but they offered an alumnus in town that I could interview with. Yeah, I'm going to do it. I guess it's better than getting dinged!tintin wrote:thorntll, that is pretty stange, I wonder what they want? I hope they don't want me to interview, I'm in CA.....are you going to do it??? All interviews last cycle were with local alumni and mostly given to splitters.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I know a few people who were asked to interview last year... I think it's pretty standard for Gtown for splitters and people with borderline numbers.thorntll wrote:Has anyone else been asked to interview? Just got my acceptance letter via FedEx!! That's another school that was kind enough to ensure that I didn't have to wait the age it would take for regular mail to reach me (I'm an international applicant from Asia). I really liked the personal note from Dean Andy, he specifically referenced my PS!

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I know I should go through this whole thread to figure this out but... what is a DR, and does moving from "Complete" to "Under Review" mean a decision is coming soon? I went complete late October.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
