Haha future contract lawyer here? ;) You're right, it was imprecise of me to say midtown. If I attend I'll be taking the D to columbus circle, which I would consider to be in midtown since it is technically south of the park--I think that's why I said midtown in my other post. Lincoln center, where fordham law actually is, would be more appropriately described as UWS.

if you hadn't gotten i was being funny by now, i would have lost all hope for you and the other sensitive nellie below.

Again, since it wasn't serious for anyone I am surpised how much back and forth we are having.
Hahaha no worries. I might have been surprised but for the fact that this is a law school blog
I am glad you don't mind me. I'm harmless.

People in the lower 60's need to cling ot our identity, less we become confused.

Have you decided to attend Fordham?
Pretty much decided on Fordham, unless NYU has some sudden good news for me, which is statistically unlikely. Gonna visit a few schools next week and see if I develop any new feelings about this whole thing. You?
Same feelings...unless Columbia knocks on my door. Fordham i is and I am happy!

Did yall visit Fordham yet? I was very impressed. I haven't visited my other NyC schools, bc they were all safety schools.

For those who haven't received full scholarships, how are yall paying for school..loans/savings?
I visited in early March (I believe the 3rd) and had a sit down/tour with Dean Reilly who is one of the Deans in the social justice center. It's a beautiful building and my favorite NYC neighborhood (I grew up a few blocks away). I'm going to admitted Students Day on the 7th but I already am looking for housing (currently in the suburbs of westchester but don't wanna commute back and forth- just personal preference and advice I've gotten from former Fordham law students that commuted 1L year). Unless one of my reaches come through, I'm going to be at Fordham.[/quote]

Columbia said they would review my application again in April.... and Im assuming its going to be a no.

Ugh housing is expensive! I have the worst attitude on NyC housing. I am such a debbie downer when it comes to rent prices. I would go to the outer boroughs, butvtge trains are gross.

I think I am the worst NYer ever! lol

Is our student ID number included in the physical admissions materials? You need it to apply for Fordham housing and I can't find it on my student website account or any of the emails I've gotten.

In yesterday via status checker and financial aid email (didn't get the actual admission email until today).

Does anyone know if they provide travel stipends for ASD?

So from my understanding, it's just institutional support right? Nothing financial aside from a summer stipend?

No scholarship but there's a lot of events/mentorship for the Scholars and a lot of institutional support in finding jobs (including things like working for federa judges etc).

Have you guys researched the overall commitment required for the Stein Scholars program? I am definitely considering public interest but I don't want to lock myself into a specific path until I've had an opportunity to explore all options during first year. It seems like a great way to go if one is definitely going PI, but I'm not sure if it would be right for undecided me.

I did (as in I read the brochure cover to cover and read the website). It seems like all you have to commit to is going to the events/helping plan them 2L and 3L year (which is great for me as I have experience with that) and you have to commit to doing a PI summer job 1L year (which I think is a great way to make sure you get legal experience 1L summer). As far as I know, there are no limitations and you could be a summer associate 2L summer.

Great info, thanks for sharing! I'm planning to find out more about the program next Friday at the ASD as well. Sounds like a great opportunity and one that I am definitely considering.

It seems as though they really haven't been willing to negotiate. I was going to try but decided not to because it doesn't seem likely. I also don't think they offer full rides, I saw somewhere that they cap out at 45k a year.

I heard they give full to select few. 509 confirms that.

No, I don't think it hurts to try. But at the ASD the dean of admissions pretty much said they're not negotiating and someone on here seemed like they tried (they were probably a dick about it) and they actually withdrew his offer. I was going to try and use a full ride to Brooklyn (as my T-14 option and BU/BC waitlisted me so I don't have any leeway there yet) to negotiate but I heard from many, many people that they are unwilling to negotiate with Brooklyn and I've seen some higher ranked schools that they were unwilling to negotiate with (GW, etc.) so I just didn't bother.

How insufferable must you be if they withdraw your offer for trying?

Well that particular candidate had a full ride to UVA, so they knew he wasn't going to go to Fordham.

I just don't know why you'd even try to negotiate with Fordham if you already have a full ride to UVA... like there is literally no school that would negotiate with Fordham over UVA
