Re: Duke Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Hey guys, this may be a stupid question or that was discussed already, but when does the PT clock start? I got the email saying my app was complete via PT on the 17th, which would make today day 10, but the status checker shows the 18th. This may all be irrelevant due to Thanksgiving screwing with the PT process anyway, but I'm definitely curious.

In the exact same boat, also complete on the 17th and my status checker hasn't updated from the 18th. Worried this means a considerable delayReadyToStart wrote:Hey guys, this may be a stupid question or that was discussed already, but when does the PT clock start? That's good to know! Wasn't sure if it meant I actually wouldn't be getting a decision until "early December" due to thanksgiving like the email saidpotterotter wrote:I wouldn't worry about the status checker. Mine didn't change on Day 10 when I got my decision. Do I understand correctly that PT's are given out only in two waves? I just submitted and imagine I will go complete within the upcoming week. On the basis of what I have seen here, it seems that if I get a PT it will be following the December LSAT, if at all. Is it possible to solicit a PT consideration prior to then?

Placed on Priority Reserve on day 10 of PT. Did not write a Why Duke. I'm concerned that there's some thing wrong with my application since based on numbers alone I should've been admitted. Hoping that this is just a case of YP.

No you don't understand correctly. I don't think you completely understand the PT process since you already submitted and are thinking you'll get it way later (can't tell if you're retaking or just expecting to get it that late). Technically yes you can be moved to PT after submission, but i've not seen someone have it happen so late after submission. soliciting PTs has been answered a million times itt.Whittie wrote:Do I understand correctly that PT's are given out only in two waves? Went complete on PT today!
I submitted all my apps right before Thanksgiving so Duke should be the first I hear back from...!

IN via PT this past Friday (day after Thanksgiving). Status checker changed to "decision made" on Friday, which was my Day 11.

I'd say you have a good shot with an ED app, but I would t recommend it since you'd most likely get into other T14s with money.Rubbishdump wrote:Invited to a PT Early Decision route? I'm 25~ LSAT 75~GPA, not sure if I'd make it in so a bit confused by the invite.

Aren't PT and ED different?proteinshake wrote:I'd say you have a good shot with an ED app, but I would t recommend it since you'd most likely get into other T14s with money.Rubbishdump wrote:Invited to a PT Early Decision route? ohhh I thought you meant you got some special ED app. there's really nothing to make of it imo. I guess you should just appreciate an expedited app!ProductofUnreality wrote:Aren't PT and ED different?proteinshake wrote:I'd say you have a good shot with an ED app, but I would t recommend it since you'd most likely get into other T14s with money.Rubbishdump wrote:Invited to a PT Early Decision route? It wasn't me, was just curious as the advice for OP is vastly different depending on whether it's a binding ED or just the PT. Take the PT, don't go ED.proteinshake wrote:ohhh I thought you meant you got some special ED app. there's really nothing to make of it imo.
