When it comes to applying to law school, if you're wondering "Should I call" the answer is almost certainly "No." If there is something worth calling about it would be a no brainer. Everything else isn't a good enough reason to call.

Also in the opinion of at least one prominent dean of admission.

Hmm I was expecting(hoping) for some movement today. Maybe tomorrow! For those of you that are in, what are the admitted students event days?

That's another thing that sucks about this waitlist hullabaloo. Even if I finally do get admitted, I will have missed out on all the admitted students stuff. Going to try to see if I could get a travel stipend to visit. I'd love to go to the admitted students days, but I hate to take off work with such short notice
why don't these things take place on the actual weekend?!

Well for those of you who may not be able to make the ASW but still come for a visit, I've heard from a current 1L that Prof. Graham Strong's Criminal Law I class (Wed and Fri, 10:30am) is a great class to visit and sit in on if you can swing it.

Nice! I was accepted about four weeks ago and haven't heard anything, so I'm starting to get worried.BirdLawExpert wrote:Just got my financial aid package via email. Let the negotiating begin!

Im in the class. I can confirm Strong is a character. Great class, and if you come now we're doing homicide.TxEx13 wrote:Well for those of you who may not be able to make the ASW but still come for a visit, I've heard from a current 1L that Prof. Graham Strong's Criminal Law I class (Wed and Fri, 10:30am) is a great class to visit and sit in on if you can swing it.

Now that financial aid seems to be kicking into gear, I started a thread in the Class of 2019 area of the forum so we can chat about that and everything else for admitted students without clogging up this thread for those still waiting to here back. Click this to head to that thread.

Rejected via email. Pretty much ruins my day. Not even sure where to go from here, got myself pretty hopeful.
For those waiting the email indicates they are reducing the class size even more this year.

I was curious if this was going to be the case. UT's entering class size either last year or the year before was like 265, when before it had regularly been above 350.PatriotP74 wrote:Rejected via email. Pretty much ruins my day. Not even sure where to go from here, got myself pretty hopeful.

Rejected here as well. Not terribly surprised with my numbers but definitely disappointed. Texas was my #1 choice but looks like I'll be leaving the state for school. Also can confirm the part about smaller classes sizes, it reads "Our selection process this year has proven to be even more challenging than in years past because of our smaller class size."

Re: University of Texas c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
It seems clear at this point that UT really wants to break into the T14. Smaller class size will drive up medians and draw the students with higher numbers because they'll be able to offer more scholarship money. A quick look at LSN shows that LSAT has ruled this cycle. It's unfortunate for those of us on the bubble that were really set on UT this year. I think last year a bunch of us are in.
Good luck to everyone who got rejected.
