Not trying to trigger any residual anxiety from the LSAT but...

is the UR4 historically sufficient for an acceptance, or just necessary?

+1... Does everyone get UR4 or do some people hear back before? Reverse splitter here, surprised I haven't been dinged yet!

I was browsing last year's thread and UR4 doesn't seem to be indicative of admission. Buttttt I'm UR4. So I shall believe that it is.

That said, you have to pass through UR4 to be admitted, so I wouldn't say it's not indicative... :D

Excited about the arrival of UR4s! In the past, has the first regular applicant decision day been a mixture of admits, waitlists, and dings?

Looking at the LSN applicants from last year's first day (12/31) it looks like everyone who heard something was accepted. That being said, it might just be people who were accepted who reported the good news and this year is already different given that we aren't hearing anything until at least two weeks after those folks did. IDK. I'm hopeful, but trying to stay grounded just in case.

I went UR2 today!? Definitely not UR4, but I guess this could be okay? Did anyone else have a UR change that wasn't UR4?

If you're right, you da real MVP.

I MIGHT have had a UR3 today, not a UR4, depending on how you define it. I had a UR1 after going complete, a UR2 right before interview invite, UR3 right after interview, and a UR4 today. However, I have heard that what I'm calling a UR2 is actually a UR1.5.

TL;DR I might have gotten a non-UR4 today, you might not be alone.

It does appear that the cycle before last (in which the first wave was released on Jan 21st) entailed a mix of acceptances, waitlists, and rejections. Regardless, it will be refreshing to have just received a decision after such torturing silence.

Interview request today! A little nervous given what I've heard about Chicago's interview being more formal/cold, but excited! :D

Does anybody have any idea what the typical time span is between the 1st UR4's and the 1st wave of decisions?

You'll be ok. The "cold" folks are the outliers.

And we'll know in the next few days about whether or not it meant anything. Because I think they hated me in the interview haha.

UR4 for me yesterday as well - stopped checking after the Penn waitlist, so actually missed some movement for once

People are selected and it's a good sign. Read the rest of the topic.

Thanks. I just got waitlisted at UPenn so starting to worry a little bit.
