Re: Michigan Law School C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-16)
When you guys say that they sent you a package, what do you mean? I want to know if it's the same package, and how good a sign it is to be a recipient of it. I received a package that contained information about Mich, and a letter from the dean that had a "we love to get (my undergrad) grads!" I also received a waiver, which I know Mich doesn't do often. Hoping that I hear positive news tomorrow, however unlikely that may be when I consider the date my application went complete.

My packet had two info booklets (one was a 100 reasons you will succeed at Michigan or something like that), a note indicating a fee waiver and a typed note with a hand written message at the end directed at my interests.Oskosh wrote:When you guys say that they sent you a package, what do you mean? I really don't think it reflects the likelihood of an acceptance. Those are generally sent out to everyone in a certain range of their stats, much like fee waivers. At the end of the day, your stats are going to be a much, much more reliable predictor of acceptance than will any mass mailing.

As a Lostie, I'm not upset that Michigan's tweet about the Dharma Initiative has translated to more votes for that option.
Edit: conjecture

I've read that as well. I believe it is in the faq on the admissions page.

I'm convinced that my being admitted or rejected will come down to my "Why Michigan". Luckily, I think my "Why Michigan" is pretty damn good.

I was expecting to see a lot more acceptances today after the tweet yesterday... Is it possible the emails are automated and will actually go out tomorrow at 6am???benwyatt wrote:Trying to catch an acceptance email before Thanksgiving like:

I'm pretty sure the emails are automated, but I don't know if any will go out tomorrow or not.ltbenn wrote:

So far I don't think there have been any on weekends and tomorrow might as well be a weekend, so it's anyone's guess.
Fingers crossed though!

Re: Michigan Law School C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-16)
That's what struck my curiosity. I didn't apply to Michigan last year, but they also did not offer me a fee waiver. I thought they were among the schools that did not offer fee waivers (unless you had evidence that paying for the application fee would be a financial burden).gamerish wrote:Seriously? Huh. I've never heard of anything like that. Good on Michigan if that's the case. The more I hear about them, the more I like them.earthabides wrote:I forget where it says it on the website, but ive seen it recently... michigan said around 1/2 of applicants offered a fee waiver are admittedgamerish wrote:Mine was the same as Abyss'.Oskosh wrote:When you guys say that they sent you a package, what do you mean?
