Doesn't this blizzard realize that we've got business with New York?

I don't want to ruin your hope completely, because the "essential stuff" will be working, but I have some doubts about the admissions office being "essential" to school operations. Classes are canceled, students office, financial aid, etc all closed. So, lets hope that the admissions office is somehow critical for school's survivalcurlietop86 wrote:*losing hope*Comma.Split wrote:Heads up guys, Columbia is closed today after 3pm and tomorrow all day due to blizzard.

I Would not rule Out the possibility of them just taking stuff home.Comma.Split wrote:I don't want to ruin your hope completely, because the "essential stuff" will be working, but I have some doubts about the admissions office being "essential" to school operations. Got me excited so I went back and checked, saw a nice sized thin package, but it was Duke sending me their 8th package. I appreciate the love from them but what a tease.lefthandofdarkness wrote:Just got an acceptance letter and a handbook via snail mail but never got an email---anyone else?
I have a feeling well be stuck in purgatory for a little bit with this storm coming through.

Seriously, they must spend an insane amount on printing and postage. Almost feels like the torrent of TTT emails after signing up for CRS.LawBron James wrote:Got me excited so I went back and checked, saw a nice sized thin package, but it was Duke sending me their 8th package. Also had a great Skype interview with Columbia last week and waiting now. Especially with the weather I would bet turnaround time isn't less than 10 days, but as usual I'd love to be wrong.

I'm in Massachusetts. I got an Admitted Student Handbook for the Class of 2018 in the mail, the first page of which is a letter which begins, "Congratulations again," and proceeds to mention "the Username/Email and PIN found in your Offer of Admission letter." Since this is my first communication from them since my Complete email, if no one else has gotten a handbook, I think this might be a mistake....I'm going to email them.

Just wanted to update -- it may be a good thing if you expected to have been accepted by now, are a potential candidate for named scholarships, and haven't yet received an email. I've heard that a couple people (outside of this thread) have received packages with Butler/Hamilton info inside and hadn't received an acceptance email previously.
Good luck to all those waiting!
