Want to hear about that $$$, but I have a feeling that there is not much left for them to dish out after reading prior posts.
IT doesn't work like that. People with higher scores get bigger discounts and those will lower scores get less and subsidize everyone else.

can confirm

So people with similar GPAs/LSATs can expect to receive roughly the same amount of scholarship money, even if some applied early and others applied late in the cycle?

Yup. The way that schools do financial aid is by coming up with a "policy" usually around the same time as they just begin taking applications, and set the policy for use during the admissions cycle (of course as the cycle progresses and there are new developments they may tweak it, but usually only minorly). The policy is almost always just a grid of GPAs and LSATs, and at the intersection of your stats is your scholarship.
Edit: and if schools have specific goals, e.g. more URMs, more out of state, etc, they may use a separate grid for those applicants.

I'm in!!! first school to hear back from (an incredible turn around since it was electronically submitted on the 1st of Feb). 3.17 164 URM. How has everyone gone about initiating the Scholarship negotiation process? just emai? And should I wait to hear back from the offers of other schools so I have something to negotiate with?

I am under Committee 2nd Read. Does that mean I am not good enough to be admitted under the 1st Read but also not bad enough to be dinged after the 1st Read? I am a little scared here.

I am pretty sure that most, if not all, go through 2nd read.
You have a solid LSAT so you will probably be fine.

Hey thanks for the encouragement. But how do you know that I have a great LSAT? Lol. I'm just 1 point above their 75th and GPA is actually over half a point below their 25th. But it's good to know that most go through the 2nd read.

The school initiates, by giving you an offer. It doesn't happen within 10 seconds of being admitted. If you aren't happy with your offer, you typically need a competing offer to show them, but ymmv.

I got in about three weeks ago and am still waiting on a scholarship offer. I don't think it happens too quickly.

+1 -- maybe this is indicative of a final review/decision to come?
