First time poster, long time lurker. I applied on 2/10/14 and have yet to hear back. Does anyone know when the next round on decisions come out? I just don't understand how there are some people who applied after me and have heard back. I don't even know what to think.

Same here. I have stats above both 50s + I'm a URM, and haven't heard back, so idk what's going on.

Anyone heard anything about the Hughes scholarship? From past forums, it looks like they usually hold interviews for finalists by now, but no one has really posted about it here! Wondering whether I deposit at the last minute and hold out hope :/

I feel like this question may have been answered earlier in the thread,
but does anyone know if 30K is the biggest scholarship you can get with a good standing stipulation?
Isn't 35K + all top 1/3rd of your class or something like that?

Correct. And I can't say enough how much extra money isn't worth the stipulation.

I went to the one in August, mostly because I was hoping to get facetime with someone important. I was pretty disappointed and they went through stuff like making sure you study for the lsat and what the part time program is. Pretty much just a repeat of info on the website with a Q&A at the end.

Is the Cole Ave area nice - The north end near Hillcrest?

Also a little further south Cole Park area?

Anyone heard anything recently or had their status change? I figured they'd be having a second wave of admissions by now since the seat deposit was due last week! The wait is killing me

When did you apply? I remember reading something about them liking early applicants, maybe because they like to go slowly? Who knows. Good luck!

I applied in Oct and was held for further review. I will definitely withdraw if I am waitlisted.

Nice to know! Knowing how shady SMU is, I bet as the second deposit deadline approaches, held applicants will start hearing back.

I applied in September of last year's cycle, was held, and then didn't hear from them again until the 2nd half of April.

Hey all. Long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm moving to to Dallas to attend SMU from the east coast so I'm looking for a roomate to share a 2 BR. Found a few complexes that look good for around 1150-1250 a month. I'd be looking to move in mid-July or August 1.

I'm pretty laid back and easy going so feel free to message me if you're looking for a roomate as well! If you're from Dallas and have furniture that's a definite plus considering I won't have any and I'm not from the area.

Hi, I am an international student, or to be more specific, a Chinese.
got in with 24,000/yr
Despites I am a fan of Mavericks, and I guess I would like to live in Dallas, I pretty much know nothing about the legal market in the area. With no tie at all there, what do you think the odds of getting a *decent* job after graduation? Big law is not necessary, but still want to be a lawyer.
