It's hard to say. Not everyone (including admits) even get an interview. I was complete for about 3 weeks before I got my request though.objection_your_honor wrote:How long are people generally complete before receiving an interview offer?

I got mine on the same day I went complete (went complete by emailing them asking to get rid of a hold request I had).objection_your_honor wrote:How long are people generally complete before receiving an interview offer?
Some others take weeks. Doesn't seem to really make a difference on admissions chances, at least from the small amount of evidence I've seen...

So relieved. Couldn't go to the group interview in NYC last Friday, but just got an alumni interview request.

Can someone please clarify. I just got an interview request from GLUC. Is that a good sign or a bad sign? I have heard different info from different people.

OsaroLJ: It means you're not an autoadmit, but it also means you're not an autoreject. Depending on what your priors were, it could either be a good sign or a bad sign. But based on what I've heard at info sessions, as long as you're not in either of those categories interview offers are mostly about convenience, they're not targeted precisely at the most marginal candidates.

Ditto. I was pretty impressed by that. You'd expect applicants to be the ones sending thank you notes. I sent a brief reply.theoutpostmhs wrote:ShrimpToastMasters wrote:Dean Cornblatt just sent a lovely personalized e-mail thanking me for participation in a group interview. What a nice guy...if he lets me in!! Everyone should do the group interview if offered a chance. It was actually really fun and it's interesting seeing the other people who are applying in person.
Just got an email too. Should we respond to it?

+1...I got an interview request (and I attended), and I'm below both medians. I'm still waiting about 6 weeks later lol. I guess I should be happy I haven't received a rejection email at this point, however it's somewhat expected as if it was going to be good news, I'm guessing they would have let me know. Anyways, try to go if you can and just be yourself and hope for the best. GL!

I dunno - I think the interviews are more random than "not autoadmit, but not...an autoreject" - it seems a lot of above median/75%ers are getting them, just as much as the marginals. From the interview, it sounds like they're trying to increase their interview numbers in general, so they might be doing it on some first come, first serve/regional basismidwest17 wrote:worried0L: probably.worried0L wrote:OsaroLJ wrote:Can someone please clarify. Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
Why would they waste interviews on people they're going to admit no matter what? I admit that I'm using "autoadmit" a bit more narrowly than TLS usually does, but even if they're trying to increase interview numbers, they surely have enough people inside of those two narrow categories to do so.ShrimpToastMasters wrote:I dunno - I think the interviews are more random than "not autoadmit, but not...an autoreject" - it seems a lot of above median/75%ers are getting them, just as much as the marginals. Maybe there were some autoadmits who were early applicants who got them, just because there weren't as many applicants at that point, so the school had more flexibility to give interviews to people they were going to admit no matter what?

Since my app went complete well over 2 weeks ago, despite a group interview, my date still hasn't changed.

What would be an acceptable time to email or call admissions about your interview? I just never got any confirmation and have not heard from the interviewer in a while. Do not want to be over eager, but I do have finals soon so it will be harder to be as flexible with my schedule.

This is totally off the top of my head but I swear I remember reading somewhere to contact them after 2 weeks. I could be getting this confused with Northwestern. But that seems like a good guideline to me.gobears!! wrote:What would be an acceptable time to email or call admissions about your interview? For those asking about interviews - I had an interview earlier in the cycle with Dean Cornblatt. It was a group interview, so different format, etc. that an alumni one, obviously. But he did say one of his objectives this year is to interview as many candidates as possible to get a better idea of who we are as people (rather than just our paper applications). Seems like a great strategy, in my opinion. I don't think it's to weed out auto-admits or anything - he really, genuinely seemed to want to get to know the applicants a little better.
Also, I heard back about two weeks later and was admitted!
