Did you get this email today?levinelove wrote:has anyone gotten an e-mail like this: Thank you for participating in our interview process for Georgetown University Law Center. The record you present is a strong one; however, the Committee on Admissions has chosen to postpone your final decision.
Each year, a large number of candidates submit applications to Georgetown Law early in the process. The high quality of this group makes the Committee's decisions extremely difficult. Please be aware that only a small number of early applicants have had their applications held, and a number of those applicants in past years have subsequently been admitted.
Once we have a better sense of the entire applicant pool, the Committee on Admissions will review your application again. No additional information is necessary, and the Credential Assembly Service (CAS) will continue to send us updates, which we will add to your file. A final decision will be made no later than Thursday, February 28, 2013.
On behalf of the Committee, we appreciate your patience and continued interest in Georgetown.
Is it customary to respond reaffirming your interest in Georgetown?

Yes, got it a few hours ago. I didn't have a great interview so I'm not surprised that my application is being held :/

Somebody that had their 3rd/4th update on the 14th, check your mailbox. I'm at work and the suspense is killing me.

I'm sorry. But at least it's being held for review and not denied! I know that doesn't help ha. I'm super on edge and checking my mail/email constantly. If you don't mind me asking, when was your last update? And did you have 5 updates? I've had 5 (3 since my interview) and I don't know what to think about that. This sucks.levinelove wrote:feelslike12 wrote:Did you get this email today?levinelove wrote:has anyone gotten an e-mail like this: Thank you for participating in our interview process for Georgetown University Law Center. Hehe yeah at least it's not a rejection. I don't know, I'm not too bummed whatever is meant to be will be, we will all end up at a great place whether it is GULC or not!feelslike12 wrote: I'm sorry. Umm I went complete sometime in late September, then again on 10/24, then had an interview on 11/1 and my latest complete date is 11/14. I didn't really keep close track prior to November, so I am not sure if I am missing any dates before that.
Don't stress too much, I'm sure they're just still reviewing your app and you will get good news soon

In via snail mail today.
I saw a small letter and had undergrad flashbacks of small envelopes being bad news. Luckily that was not the case.

In via snail mail as well!
Complete: 10/25
Updates: 10/29, 11/6, 11/12
No interview, but had a Gtown Alumn write my recommendation, so maybe that factored in?

Re: Georgetown c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I got this e-mail a few weeks ago. I think my status only updated once after my interview, and the date hasn't changed since. My interview was also mediocre. I was pretty honest during it about my level of interest in Georgetown etc., and I don't think the guy was super sold on me. He probably told them to just go with the numbers. I think I might prefer Michigan or Cornell anyway, but still.feelslike12 wrote:I'm sorry. But at least it's being held for review and not denied! I know that doesn't help ha. No I don't think I'd like staying in Utah too much. I love the skiing and for that I'll always come back. I wasn't going to apply to BYU but I applied because it was free and I was tired of having to listen to people try and sell me on BYU when they found out I didn't apply. As for the Scotch...yeah I think you might have an upper hand if we play out the highlander game.nickb285 wrote:Pretty sure that makes me the heathen out of the two of us, but I'll take it. If we're gonna go the Highlander route, safe money's on the one of us who's allowed to drink scotch.
Are you applying in Utah as well?

Finally got an update today! First one since I went complete. I did not get one right after my group interview last week like many people did after theirs and was wondering if that is a bad sign?

Wouldn't it be sent to the address that you manually put in on the application?orbbs wrote:Mine was sent to my current address rather than permanent.whyamidoingthis66 wrote:I had my third update 11/12 and still no word... if I listed a current address and a permanent address, which would the letter would go to?

Submitted on 11/17, updated to application complete today. LSP has me as an admit, so hoping this goes well for me... Congrats to all who have already received good news, and best wishes to those still waiting.

second update since my interview. If I remember correctly that makes this number 5. I am going to go ahead and tell myself this is a good sign and that they are probably sending out my acceptance and full ride offer

Yep looks like we are in the same boat. Since I had an update yesterday I wasn't expecting another update but thought I would check anyways and was surprised to see the date change. I think I read earlier in the thread that someone was rejected after their interview and only had one update after the interview. But that doesn't mean we are in the clear. Fealslike12 had the same two updates after the interview and was waitlisted. I'm not sure how many updates those who get accepted after interviewing have before the letter is sent but I image 5 or 6. Either way I'm just going to try and put this out of mind until after I gorge myself to show how thankful I am for this process.
