Probably not. Also, nobody in this thread seems capable of taking a joke. Wonder if that has anything to do with the Jesuit/Catholic tradition of the school? Like the Footloose town, but with laughter rather than dancing.

I'd be glad to talk down to you. (re in a winky face. I'm serious about .1% of the time for the record.) This may or may not comfort people but I have yet to meet one person here that meets such values. I admit, it's entirely plausible they avoid me.Cornelius wrote:Maybe getting talked down to is my thing.

Here's the .1%. Good luck everyone! I'm always around, so if you have any specific questions you perhaps do not want to post here, feel free to PM me.

Is it standard protocol to snail mail or email if I'm going to send a LOCI along with an updated resume?

Personally I would always email. Less chance of something getting misplaced somehow, easier to get confirmation of receipt back, and it gets there quicker.freaknroll wrote:Is it standard protocol to snail mail or email if I'm going to send a LOCI along with an updated resume?

Did anyone know that there is a law school at Fordham and that they are currently going through an admissions cycle? I was reading the thread and I thought maybe some people forgot.
Seriously, there are other forums to discuss the merits of any given school, or to compare it to others. Alternatively, if folks want to engage in a personal argument, could you please take it it PMs? I (and I would guess many others) do not have large chunks of time to browse these forums, and weeding through the flame wars is counterproductive.

Fordham is big on email and the whole green (or cheap) initiative. I would definitely recommend email. Also, not to throw her under the contact bus, but espiritu is awesome and a great person to direct communications to.freaknroll wrote:ThanksCornelius wrote:Personally I would always email. Big time thanks. Does Fordham value full time work experience in any way or is it, like the majority of schools, a small boost at best?JenDarby wrote:Fordham is big on email and the whole green (or cheap) initiative. That extra 45 seconds it took him to read those posts is serious business. Even though I vehemently disagree with Fordham on this one, I think it shows that Fordham stands up for with its values.mpern wrote:Just got into Fordham. Hate to be another downer on what should be a celebratory thread, but I also just read this article from today's NYTimes:

Does this bother anyone else? Not only does Fordham refuse to provide contraception in their health care plans, but they are doing everything they can to delay implementation of the new health care law... Kinda makes me question the values of the school.
Fordham is very upfront about being a Jesuit university and that it adheres to Catholic values. (The president of the university is, and always has been, a Jesuit priest). However, they're not in your face about it and if you hadn't read the article, you'd never know about this.
Besides, it's not like campus is in the middle of nowhere.
As a matter of fact, there's a women's center and abortion clinic 1 blocks from the law school, where you can get all the birth control you need.

Re: Fordham c/o 2015/16 (2011-2012 Cycle)
Dear Mr. Bryant:
Congratulations!
I am excited to inform you that you have been accepted as a Day division student in the Fordham University School of Law fall 2012 entering class.
Though this notification is being sent electronically, you will subsequently receive a formal letter of admission by mail. This acceptance is recognition of your promise as a student and as a lawyer. It is also an invitation to join a very select community of scholars, who will work with you to take the lessons of the classroom and apply them to the world at large and use your law degree for the greater good.
Within the next 48 hours, you will receive an email regarding your access to our Admitted Student Website, which we will update throughout the winter and spring with Admitted Student events and information. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly or email us at admitted@law.fordham.edu.
Because it is right around the corner, I wanted to let you know that our first Admitted Student Day will be next Friday, February 3. The program includes amazing presentations from some of our best faculty members. You will have the opportunity to tour the Law School and meet and mingle with current students and alums. I hope you can join us! You will be receiving a more formal invitation via email very early next week but you can RSVP by replying to me directly or by sending an email to admitted@law.fordham.edu.
Have a great weekend!
Cheers,
Kathryn Espiritu
Director of Admissions

Mine was similar, but as it was a while back, it didn't reference the admitted student day yet.lakers3peat wrote:

There's 3 ASDs this year.Gemini wrote:I'm surprised they're doing it on a friday and not the weekend. I guess I'll see some of you around!
One on Friday, one on Saturday, and one on Sunday. I'll be at this one since it works the best with my schedule although I will have to leave Saturday afternoon so I will not have much time to explore the city.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
