Everytime an admissions official reviews your application they push a red button that changes the date

I'm not a splitter, but I'm at the median for both GPA/LSAT, and this is my second time applying (got rejected last year). My LSAT score went up 15 points from last year to this year's application though. No wonder they want to interview me.

Was stuck at 11/7 until about 3 hours ago, when I went 11/17. WTF does it mean? I'm predicting a Monday acceptance, since 20 days after my submission date (10/30) would be this Saturday. This seems in keeping with the timeline amc posted above: from 11/14 (last update) to 11/17 (letter) for him/her, hopefully from 11/17 to 11/21 for me? FWIW, I'm on the east coast as well.

If the status checker says you're at "complete" I don't think they'd be able to tell you anything.

Since your status date would indicate you submitted over 6 weeks ago, maybe you could call under the guise of trying to keep in touch, or wanting to make sure they know you are still very interested. It is still very early though.

As someone who has a status date of 10/31 complete, and that's all I have ever had, my impression is pretty much that my application didn't make it past the initial stage and I got denied. For whatever reason all schools seem to be slower to communicate dings than admits, but that is what I imagine to be my case. Not sure if anyone has any reason to believe otherwise, but I would think once the first pool of rejects come out, it'll evidence that those with apps that stagnate while others move forward are the rejects. Especially since there are those that have been admitted with dates complete after mine.

Disclaimer: This is my opinion, and based on nothing but the workings of my mind.
