They took a 170/3.4 and a 170/3.84 so you should have a decent shot.

waitlist is status checker? my checker just says the last review date, and application under further review.

random q: if you wrote on a paper regarding a real news event of a person who found something valuable:

"it's possible for a man to have found..."

i lost significant points on a paper, because i wrote "a man" and not "somebody." this seems pretty ridiculous. i've never been a grade nazi, but being that upenn wants my final grades, i don't want to lose points for paranoid opinions. i was not being sexist...i was just mentioning what happened. i have no doubt women can and do find valuable things everyday... is this incorrect on my end?

I mean if you are waitlisted your checker will say "waitlist offer" or something similar. You are deferred, not waitlisted/held for further review right?

That question about what you wrote ... personally I see the point, but I wouldn't presume a student is being sexist or favoring one gender. Tough break...

What's this "second reader under review update" you speak of? Just another updated date for the "Under Review" status, or an entirely different status?

Already asked this, but it got lost when calls began and went unanswered. Sorry to repeat, but...I submitted on 11/2 and have been at Complete since 11/5. Do you think it's worth calling to check on the status of my application?

I submitted 11/1, Complete 11/3 and just went UCR 12/15. I wouldn't call if I were you. It's likely they're not putting any more applications under review since they're closing for winter break soon.

I don't think so - mine only updated once (went complete 11/2, under review 11/4 and stayed there). I think its possible that the status checker doesn't always update when the second reader views it (maybe they have it locally?).

So that's what happens to the status checker!

Congratulations! This sort of info is strangely soothing. Thanks for sharing. It's much easier to wait knowing that others are already celebrating, and much easier to imagine the celebration knowing that there is a moment where the big phone call is corroborated by the little status checker.

Also in the 2nd UCR 12/14 still waiting group. I had Friday off, and spent the entire day obsessing on the notion that Penn could call. It's actually comforting to know I have a very full work day tomorrow, making such obsession impossible. At least outwardly. My stomach will continue to churn.
