Yeah, as someone who's spent their entire life in a big city, a smaller, more personal community is something I'd welcome. Really looking forward to visiting this Saturday and seeing for myself.80884 wrote:+ 1Bearlegdairy wrote:That sounds so, so perfect...yoyowhatupyo wrote:visited Davis & Sac this wkend and was super, super bored. downtown davis is like 3 by 4 little blocks. need a car to get in/around in Sac. live/work in SF currently. the visit definitely has me leaning away from UCD...

Re: UC Davis 2011
is anybody financial aid award available on MyAwards yet? I'm afraid their estimate won't match the actual award.
My grant was, I thought, pretty generous (12k). Was this more or less than others?

My package isn't available yet because I just submitted my FAFSA :/ but I also got the $12,000 grant.

Re: UC Davis 2011
I could access it, but I wasn't happy with what I saw. The financial aid office seems to pick and choose what they consider on the need access form. I say this because when I called the office, they blatantly ignored my family's current loan debt information (which needs to start being repaid this summer) and explanation in the special circumstances section. I was told that all that matters is how much income you will have next year, regardless of how much your necessary and documented expenses will be...mistermister wrote:is anybody financial aid award available on MyAwards yet? Re: UC Davis 2011
That is pretty much what Davis is like. It's not like it's a bangin tourist spot or large city with tons of things to do for visitors. It's a college town with bars for students and occasional concerts on campus.yoyowhatupyo wrote:visited Davis & Sac this wkend and was super, super bored. downtown davis is like 3 by 4 little blocks. need a car to get in/around in Sac. live/work in SF currently. the visit definitely has me leaning away from UCD...

If I wanted to go to a club with friends I would head to SF but if I just wanted to chill and have some drinks there are tons of places to do that in Davis. Sac is okay if you want music/clubs/dancing but I would honestly rather drive to SF for that, though going to Arco Arena for games/concerts is worthwhile as are some of the comedy clubs in Sac.
Unless you need to see live pro games every week or need to go to the club every week or need a huge variety of places to eat out, I think Davis is fine for a law student.

Ya, I got 13K from them and another 14 from UC. I'am pretty happy with that, don't know how great it is really but I was prepared for worse news...
