Got waitlisted last week with 170/3.58 (3.6 after transcript update that happened post WL). I'm surprised, to say the least. I'm going to withdraw from the waitlist as soon as I get into a better school, though, since I'm pretty sure WL accepts don't get scholarships and Illinois, ranked 4 lower, offered me 30k/year.

You got $$ at michigan. Cheer up! Worse comes to worse, you still have an awesome outcome. I'd say you still have a strong shot at NYU or Columbia though.

Eh, you're probably the first person on this thread who can legitimately call YP on Vandy. But unless you were set on working in the south, you've already got a great thing going in Michigan, and I'm sure you'll get accepted to a few more top schools before this is over.

Accepted earlier this week. Any reason why I should select Vandy over GULC?

Nah, I would absolutely choose Vandy over GULC. Smaller class, better atmosphere, better weather, better (IMO) city, and similar employment stats. But Masterhearts was asking if he should attend Vandy over GULC, and I definitely think he should attend GULC.

I definitely like the smaller classes at vandy. I really don't want a large class size. I hope I make it into Columbia..smaller classes and higher rank.

Just checking in to say I STILL haven't gotten my fucking letter. At this point it's taken longer to get the letter than it did for them to make their decision. I finally emailed the admissions office about it, so we'll see what they have to say...
