I don't know. I mean mine started out with the general "Why law school?" "Why Harvard?" But then, well, I don't know, we kind of got on to talking about our mutual hopes and dreams and--46 minutes and 21 seconds later (I'll remember that number forever)--we realized we had a lot in common. We have a mani/pedi appointment Monday after my JR7 (yeah, we've spoken 5 times since).

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
Agree with this. I don't think there are enough numbers to draw any inferences for anyone in particular to freak out. There are people with awesome numbers who got left out, there are splitters who were left out, there were URM's left out. Moral of the story: if you got a JR1, you're more likely to get in than not. But until the day comes, you'll be on the edge of your seat regardless of your numbers.vanwinkle wrote: Why are people freaking out about this? Think about it this way: For every person like him who didn't get a JR2, there are probably a dozen or more who did.
Also, the Boalt rejection makes me suspect something was really wrong with his PS or LORs. Nobody with a GPA that high and a perfect LSAT score should be getting outright rejected from Boalt. They pride themselves on being more holistic, though, and putting more emphasis on the app. I could see Boalt saying "We're just gonna reject him if he can't get his (PS/LORs/other) right" while HSCC would all say "Well, his (PS/LORs/other) had problems, but we'll keep him around on the WL if we need someone to protect our medians..."
Long story short: Don't freak out about this one. Unless you just noticed you have a typo in your PS. Then, maybe freak out.

You must have had some question to ask him at the end of the interview.

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
I felt pretty good about my JR1 - didn't think it was too awkward, felt like my questions weren't horrible, and we spoke a bit about some specific areas of interest. That said, it was five minutes (as opposed to an hour-long Northwestern interview), so who knows.
Also, every time I see this thread on the TLS front page I assume that JR2's have come out and I haven't gotten one. And then I worry about posts like this because everyone will be all "oh, thought it went well, eh? effin loser."
But anyway, just speaking up for the people who felt ok about their JR1.

UR as well!
EEK
wow that was really fast. I submitted a little over a week ago.
Is the transition from submit-->UR usually really fast? Do people normally get stuck at the UR stage for awhile?

Yeah, I think the transition from submit->UR can be pretty fast. I submitted on 11/8, went UR on 11/15. I guess if everything's there (no waiting for LoRs or LSAT scores), UR happens really fast. Now we wait some more...

Went UR on the 16th.
Would LOVE a JR1, but probably not going to happen any time soon (or ever) with my numbers.

I went UR 11/8 according to status checker, but I got a "Application Complete" email today - and hadn't gotten one previously.
Bad sign?

No. The batches of complete e-mails is all arbitrary: it means nothing.forward21 wrote:I went UR 11/8 according to status checker, but I got a "Application Complete" email today - and hadn't gotten one previously.

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
The way it has looked so far is that those people who get JR1s soon after going under review get the complete e-mail after the JR1. If you get a complete e-mail first, it does not seem like that precludes you from getting a JR1 at some point based on the similar pattern from last year. I think it just means that you aren't getting a JR1 right away. If there is anyone who has gotten a complete e-mail and then a JR1 e-mail right after, please correct me. I am just going based off of what has been reported in this thread so far.

I got my complete email only a few days before my JR1 (2 business days I think). I got my JR1 about two weeks after going under review.Calla Lily wrote:The way it has looked so far is that those people who get JR1s right away get the complete e-mail after the JR1. Do all "complete" emails say the same things about it normally taking 2 months and that decisions are sent via email? Or do the ppl who get the early pre-thanksgiving JR2 get some sort of special complete email?

Applied 9/7, went under review 10/6, still no JR1. Does this mean I should give up hope or do people get late JR1s?

Alright, client, no need to get feisty.
I noted above that while that was a pattern I observed in the thread, Jack McCoy proved that generalization wrong.
