@FeelTheHeat: I hate to use this word, but, where to live "DEPENDS" on the person. Personally, I live in a 1 bed/bath, a block from school called Parkwood Apts (on the corner of W. Park Ave & MLK)---cozy & convenient. A large amount of students live across the street from the law school (Jefferson St.) which holds multiple apt. buildings and dorm-style halls. One example is the Jefferson Towers, which offers a 1 bed, 1 bath, mini-kitchen, desk area...but all-in-one type style, as in there is no separation.

My bf lives there too! I love it because it's so spacious. However, his didn't come with a microwave, washer/dryer, or dishwasher. Is that standard in this facility?

Is anyone else surprised that the housing budget is only $5,000/yr. That is a little more than $400/mo....I haven't seen anything for $400/mo (not sharing a place with someone).

I wonder if the FA office will consider married students in a different light and increase that amount? Married students can't live in the same amount of space as a single person.

I think (recalling from memory here, too lazy to look it up right now) but in FSU's Financial Aid budget spreadsheet, they list two categories: "Room" and "Board", with budgeted $5000 each. Most schools just list Room & Board together.

I think board is for food. I was married all through undergrad, so I have no idea how or if it is even possible to live on less than 400/mo for food. I may be in for a big life style change....I just checked Wake's COA break down and they do Room/Board/Utilities together for 11,000.. It seems this is the going rate...

I will definitely bring this up during ASD. About $125/week sounds good to me, and honestly even that sounds a bit high. I admittedly suck at finances though so I'll admit I don't know much lol

You can live off of $400/mo on food, as long as it is just you. I spend about $300.00 and that includes going out every once in a while. But definitely bring up rent issues during ASD and report back! I pay $410.00 now for my apartment in G'ville (which is relatively comparable to Tally I would think) BUT I have three roommates.

I can live off of $100 a week for food, as a person who lives with her SO, but I wasn't able to a few years ago when I didn't know how to cook very well. If it was just me, I could live off of $30 a week for food, but he happens to be a big ass MF with a big ass appetite hah

$400/month is unreasonable for rent. Especially for those of us who wouldn't be comfortable living in a little apartment near campus. I'm making my SO pay for my "room and board" while I'm in law school, but I definitly feel yalls pain here...

yup, if you take classes during summer there is financial aide available. if you're not taking classes during summer, hope you can get a paid internship!

Unfortunately, it seems that only very few students are successful in getting paid internships, and will have to space this money out over 12 months. FSU's COL money is significantly less than the other schools I am considering, but the actual COL is about the same.

I got this too, but I've already sent my fall transcript to LSAC. And I'm still at complete.

FWIW I had to obtain documentation for two different parts of the application and it took well over a week to get it all. I was accepted the day I emailed the last piece of documentation.

Yeah, don't give up yet. It took a long time for me to get reviewed, but I got in.

Last week, I was worried about being held.... Today, I got an e-mail invitation for the Academic Scholars Day!
