Terribly sorry to ask what may be a silly question, but is there any significance to being grouped together? Can one 12/20er, for example, get a rejection while another 12/20er gets an acceptance?

Yes, that can definitely happen. However, the benefit of finding others with your same UR numbers is that if those with your numbers start being accepted, you can often reasonably infer that you will soon be accepted as well. Obviously this doesn't always hold true, but it has been an accurate guide for me for two of the four schools I have been accepted to thus far.

I've still got my late November UR date.

Guess I better prepare for my waitlist.

I really wouldn't worry about it, I went UCR at upenn 12/23, but they won't even be releasing any more decisions until 1/7 at the earliest.
Also, 12/17. Please <3 me Chicago kthnxbye.

No, there have not been any decisions yet. They will start next week. We are all trying to figure out what our UR updates mean, but we have no idea. No one is "cooked"

Please forgive me, but why do we think 12/13 are admits? I'm 12/13. Haha.

I hate to be a bubble burster here, but isn't it possible, even likely that apps viewed on the same day could be split between acceptances, WLs, and dings? I mean, if not that would mean that they decided everyone's fate on the first UR date, since they would already have to be in definitive piles before the second date for the second date to mean anything other than "we looked at you today." Otherwise, why have the second date at all, unless there was still a decision to be made? Conclusion: your UR dates don't mean anything except that your file was viewed that day.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
