I just got my purple envelope today as well. NYU is definitely my current top choice out of the schools I've heard back from so far. A Puke Colored Envelope might change my mind though if one arrives in my mailbox sometime in the next couple weeks.mbv wrote:CONGRATS!!! If you get accepted on the first wave, it usually takes slightly more than a month. If you are on the borderline, longer.terp200 wrote:Complete at Columbia today. applied 1/19 also. does anyone know how long it usually takes after going complete?

Thanks. I'm pretty stoked, it was my first acceptance. I thought it was going to be a denial because of how prompt it was and because it came in a little purple envelope.Genki wrote:I just got my purple envelope today as well. Columbia. Also known as the "VCE", the vomit-colored envelope.ShiftyOne wrote:Thanks. I'm pretty stoked, it was my first acceptance. Not this year. After NYU humiliated itself last year by accidentally emailing a bunch of rejected students telling them they were admitted, a bunch of schools switched back to snail mail from email.

Here's an article about it. It wasn't the law school, though, so I don't know if it got any attention here.booboo wrote:OMG, can you please link me to a thread about this?BenJ wrote:Not this year. I could have sworn in the Columbia thread that people talk about getting the PDF acceptance letter through email...BenJ wrote:Not this year. International students probably do. Most schools that do snail mail will email the letter to people abroad; not sure if that's true of Columbia. But all Columbia acceptances to people in the US are done by snail mail.meowmeow wrote:I could have sworn in the Columbia thread that people talk about getting the PDF acceptance letter through email...BenJ wrote:Not this year. Northwestern recently did the same thing to Kellogg applicants. They refunded the $250 application fee as an apology.BenJ wrote:Here's an article about it. I actually applied on this exact date and never received a "complete" email. Should I be worried/ call to ask what is going on?
