I'd love that. I could then say I graduated #1 and get dream jerb!jstans wrote:Had a stress dream that I put down my deposit at a school and was the only one that showed up to orientation.

Had a stress dream that I forgot to fill out some form somewhere and so I learned during orientation that my scholarships were canceled and my need-based aid was never processed..jstans wrote:Had a stress dream that I put down my deposit at a school and was the only one that showed up to orientation.

None here. Went to local state school with a full ride that happens to be in my hometown.Litt1tUp wrote:I'm just wondering - how many of y'all got undergrad debt as well?
Looked out of state for school (Columbia, NYU) but knew I would be going on to some sort of professional school and thus saved the hit for now.

I wish I could go back and choose the state school instead of an overpriced private university....Dodocogon wrote:None here. Went to local state school with a full ride that happens to be in my hometown.Litt1tUp wrote:I'm just wondering - how many of y'all got undergrad debt as well?

Just paid my deposit, my drive to do my job fell off a cliff as soon as I hit pay.

At this point, I don't care if I get fired since I don't have a good relationship from my boss and I'm quitting soon anyway.TexasENG wrote:Just paid my deposit, my drive to do my job fell off a cliff as soon as I hit pay.

I'm fortunate to have a good relationship with my boss (she wrote me a baller LOR), but I'm def. struggling to care about it now.shotgunheist wrote:At this point, I don't care if I get fired since I don't have a good relationship from my boss and I'm quitting soon anyway.TexasENG wrote:Just paid my deposit, my drive to do my job fell off a cliff as soon as I hit pay.

Did the same thing and told myself I'd be alright with debt for law school. That sounded good on paper, but now that I'm staring the debt in the face it's way more real.Dodocogon wrote:None here. Also have a good relationship with my boss but my productivity has been steadily declining since NovemberTexasENG wrote:

I'm hoping my excitment dies down a bit soon because I'm here till August and I'd like to not be the asshole who gave her notice and then just stoppped working hard.

I'm taking ~ 4-6 weeks in between. Will be the longest break I've had since the summer between my senior year high school and college. I've been slowing transitioning things off of me so my last few months will be pretty slow just wrapping things up.ashrice13 wrote:This made me LOL for real.shotgunheist wrote:At this point, I don't care if I get fired since I don't have a good relationship from my boss and I'm quitting soon anyway.TexasENG wrote:Just paid my deposit, my drive to do my job fell off a cliff as soon as I hit pay.

My job intensity like for some reason has increased so much since 2017 and I'm taking on things that I don't enjoy doing as much and it kind of sucks lol
But also waiting on cls and NYU really started to impact my concentration starting in February lol

Edit: Have you gotten any news from CLS or NYU yet? Looks like NYU pulls a signiciant number of their class off the WL each year

Nope, not yet! It is encouraging seeing the WL stats for NYU though.TexasENG wrote:Keilz wrote:My job intensity like for some reason has increased so much since 2017 and I'm taking on things that I don't enjoy doing as much and it kind of sucks lol
But also waiting on cls and NYU really started to impact my concentration starting in February lol. That sucks. From like September '16 thru Feb '17 my job was a nightmare, but there was a pretty high chance I was going to Michigan summer program so we had to start transitioning things early so now I'm much more free than I used to be.

I'm actually starting a new job since it pays more than twice what I make. I graduated with 10k, and paid that off my first year out (first year bonus ftw). But then I got married and inherited 50k from my wife. We should finish paying that off this year right before I head to school.Mr_Chukes wrote:20k state school as well lol.Stylnator wrote:$5k (this is what happens when your room + board > tuition at state schoolLitt1tUp wrote:I'm just wondering - how many of y'all got undergrad debt as well?).

Just turned in a work project that *should* have only really taken a couple days that I stretched out to a week.
Apartment hunting took a bit too much of my time, whoops.

I went to a public school, but my cousin and friend who went to super expensive private LACs both said the same thing to me, which I found interesting. Though this might just be their perception, they both said that there aren't/weren't many "middle class" people in their class. It was/is very wealthy students and students who received grants, making a bimodal split of the class. Does anyone have a similar perspective?drjekyllope wrote:graduated with $30k from an ivy, what up lower-middle class American DreamersTexasENG wrote:I graduated with 10k, and paid that off my first year out (first year bonus ftw). Graduated with 50k+ from a state school. Being poor + COL + awful financial aid FTW. Taught me a lot about debt though.
Also, I would have had zero debt if I was smarter in high school and went to a good private university with need-based aid.

+1 lol. Feel like law school is undergrad on steroids in that regard. I mean I went to a UC and there were so many upper class people, can only imagine law school.Mr_Chukes wrote:I honestly feel like law school will be like that lol but with more wealthy people.Keilz wrote:I went to a public school, but my cousin and friend who went to super expensive private LACs both said the same thing to me, which I found interesting.
