That doesn't bode well for me...even though I did take a year off in between high school and college and worked. I feel like I didn't emphasize that in my app nearly enough now.Theopliske8711 wrote:

When was your js1?bkal91 wrote:Hey guys, first time logging in. Thought I would share my stats.
Denied with a 174 and 3.93. Pretty good softs (president or vice president of several clubs, started a business, etc), K-JD. I think one of the deciding factors was that I had a bad JS1 (at least I think I did anyway). Surprisingly, I am not that upset. The way I see it, sometimes there is a benefit in not getting what you want. For me at least, it makes me want to work that much harder in the future. For those who have gotten denied, try to make the best of the situation. For those who haven't heard, best of luck. There is still time to hear good news.
Sorry to hear that.
I am k-jd with similar stats with you as well.
How as your personal statement like.. may I ask?

So, assuming we survive today, do we think we'll be safe for a while?

Yeah, one of the questions was why I wanted to go to law school now instead of taking a year off. I don't think the interview went well because although I had all of my answers prepared in advance and said exactly what I wanted to say, I stumbled with the delivery somewhat. Because of this, I think I was perceived as being unsure about what I wanted to do.sd26 wrote:Sorry to hear. Those are really good stats, Why do you think you had a bad JS1? Ah okay. I had the exact same question in my JS1, I think she liked my answer? I really have no idea. But still, with your numbers I'm sure you'll be just fine wherever the hell you wanna gobkal91 wrote:Yeah, one of the questions was why I wanted to go to law school now instead of taking a year off. I'm kind of curious...did any other k-jd's not get asked why law now/why not take a year off?
I got asked if law school didn't exist what would I do instead, which I thought might be an alternative way of asking but that seems a little different..

If people who were rejected today are still reading the thread (and I understand if you aren't), could you post when you had your JS1?

Got asked what I would do if I couldn't go to law school for another two years.Jessasaurus wrote:I'm kind of curious...did any other k-jd's not get asked why law now/why not take a year off?

js1 was November 26th. I thought my personal statement was ok i guess, hard to really judge from an outside perspective lol. Here is a link to it if you want to see for yourself: --LinkRemoved--hwannabe1234 wrote:When was your js1?bkal91 wrote:Hey guys, first time logging in. Thought I would share my stats.

Seems like it. I imagine most K-JDs got a similar question.

Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
I also got the "what would you do if not for law school" question. I asked her to clarify if she meant to ask what would I do if I got rejected, and she just repeated something to the effect of "if not law school, then what?", which I took to mean as "law school doesn't exist". I think my answer was pretty weak, since the question's phrasing threw me off.Jessasaurus wrote:I'm kind of curious...did any other k-jd's not get asked why law now/why not take a year off?
