1/10 submission, borderline candidate. No peep from CLS. This is making me anxious...

Re: Columbia 2011!
Hmmm so I know that people are less likely to post dings, but I still expected a little more movement on here today. There's usually a pretty decent number of people who admit getting dinged on here, so it doesn't look like the ding wave was a big one. There are still only a couple on LSN too.

Do we have the first TLS couple? The Canadian just asked out the catCosmoLaw wrote:Then I'm sure you must be super cute. Perhaps a drink once we're both accepted into Stanford? Re: Columbia 2011!
Haha that would be awesome if there was a real TLS couple that worked out! Can you imagine telling people you met on a law school forum? But just FYI I'm pretty sure there was a Zooey Deschanel - Jeff Bridges flirtation ITT just a couple days ago. And I'm sure there have been many others.Clint Eastwood wrote:Not by a longshot.7ED wrote:Do we have the first TLS couple? No way. Is it wrong BTW that I picked up the Chicago binder today and was just going through the looks of the different people? (Females) I was that bored at work and was debating law schools and looking for any obscure reason to sway me.eskimo wrote:Oh there definitely are.law_monkey wrote:Haha that would be awesome if there was a real TLS couple that worked out! I also promise to post in here as soon as I get mine with the postmark date. I'm thinking tomorrow if it was sent on the 1st. That seems like a reasonable amount of time to get out to LA since it's likely not priority mail.

Re: Columbia 2011!
you know what though... based on NYU mail that comes rather often actually,
A postmark 2/1 should have arrived today.
A postmark 2/2 should arrive tomorrow.
I'm being optimistic here.

Re: Columbia 2011!
But CLS has been using priority, so all the LAers have been getting their stuff 2 days after it gets sent. Kind of amazing really! But if you want to be optimistic, the VCEs they shipped yesterday will be here tomorrow!glitched wrote:you know what though... based on NYU mail that comes rather often actually,

Note: I know there's no evidence of a 2/3 VCE yet, but why can't LA be the first?

Re: Columbia 2011!
well it really depends where you are in LA. I am in LA district but I am a day's shipping and filing away from Los Angeles the city.
LOL DON'T TAKE THIS HOPE FROM ME!!
(Also i believe in 2/3 being possible still - our pool is rather small)
edit: the thing is... it looks like they've made at least some type of decision for EVERYONE before 1/10. So there is no forgotten - I just can't understand how we would be left out in a hold/WL email batch. So there is almost a guarantee that our decision is in the mail somewhere, floating around in some post office. lol i'm sure this is a duh for almost everyone that's been keeping up with this... but I just want to rationalize/vent things.

Re: Columbia 2011!
Yeah and these last few waves have seemed to be more like trickles to me. They're probably just spiting the rest of the LA crowd because there's no snowpocalypse ruining our mail. When nature doesn't sabotage USPS, CLS will!glitched wrote:well it really depends where you are in LA. I am in LA district but I am a day's shipping and filing away from Los Angeles the city.

Question: does CLS attract a more national crowd than NYU? I'm slightly concerned that CLS will have more reach in California than its crosstown rival, particularly when it comes to clerkships or job placement -- what do you think? Good either way?

Re: Columbia 2011!
Do NOT take this for fact because this is just the impression I'm getting. But I think Columbia wins as far as layman's prestige, but we won't be looking to get hired by the average man walking down the street. Employers know what the top schools are, and I think CLS and NYU will look roughly the same to them. I think you'll be have the same result either way since the law schools at both are national degrees.akikaze wrote:Question: does CLS attract a more national crowd than NYU? You'll get no gossip from me, but I know of at least four TLS couples. I think 2 are still together. So... it happens!
