You should be ecstatic over CLS ! (which you are...). I just think it's an insane world we live in at TLS where HLS is perceived as a "shot in the dark" vs. other comparable schools. Don't talk HLS up too much. You had a good shot if you got into CLS. Go kick some ass elsehwere...

I was hoping for that too, especially given my work experience, which is rather significant. Oh well, at least Columbia loves me. ha

I saw all the discussion over the last couple pages on waitlisting sub-3.8 GPAs, but I saw a 3.84/175 waitlist on LSN who was a humanities/soc. sci. double major. Granted, both those fields <<<<< hard sciences for difficulty, but I'd think most people applying to LS would have a humanities/social sciences background so it wouldn't put someone at a significant disadvantage. They're definitely selecting for very high GPAs this cycle, but that person's profile makes me think there's something else going on in addition. (Also, I skimmed that guy's LSN profile and didn't see any red flags to explain the WL.)
