Thanks! I am totally excited for CLS. Harvard was a shot in the dark. I missed.hannah87 wrote:sorry, CG!!! you'll love CLS, i'm sure.CG614 wrote:Reject e-mail.CLS it is for me... good luck all.

It's cool. Life goes on, I'll enjoy Columbia. Plus I hate the Red Sox and I'm a Yankees fan, so it would have been torture.Illijah wrote:CG614 wrote:Reject e-mail.CLS it is for me... good luck all.

Gulp. I suppose it'll be nice for this to be over for me. Mind if I ask the dates you applied and went UR?CG614 wrote:No hold, first word since I submitted my application.legalnoeagle wrote:Damn. You should be ecstatic over CLS ! (which you are...). I just think it's an insane world we live in at TLS where HLS is perceived as a "shot in the dark" vs. other comparable schools. Don't talk HLS up too much. You had a good shot if you got into CLS. Go kick some ass elsehwere...CG614 wrote: Thanks! I am totally excited for CLS. Harvard was a shot in the dark. Hahaha, my shot in the dark comment was for my own self-esteem and sanity.NightHooded wrote:You should be ecstatic over CLS ! (which you are...). Yes - this comment is also for my own self-esteem and sanity.

bummer, sorry to hear thatCG614 wrote:Reject e-mail.CLS it is for me... good luck all.
Sorry CG, thought you would at least get a WL. Have fun at CLS!blue5385 wrote:bummer, sorry to hear thatCG614 wrote:Reject e-mail.CLS it is for me... good luck all.
...see you at CLS, New York is way more fun than Cambridge anyway!
I was hoping for that too, especially given my work experience, which is rather significant. Oh well, at least Columbia loves me. har6_philly wrote:Sorry CG, thought you would at least get a WL. At least it saves you from uncertainty and more decision making. Now you can plan for the next step. You have my favorite avatar on TLS btwCG614 wrote: I was hoping for that too, especially given my work experience, which is rather significant. Oh well, at least Columbia loves me. ha

yeah, major case of tl;dr on that one. Perhaps he had lukewarm recommendations? He's still awaiting chicago, which says something, at any rate, although it could be YP. Beyond that, very tough to say, beyond looking at the amount of money he was offered at places--and the 25k at CLS might be telling? not really sure.blue5385 wrote:I saw all the discussion over the last couple pages on waitlisting sub-3.8 GPAs, but I saw a 3.84/175 waitlist on LSN who was a humanities/soc. sci. double major. Granted, both those fields <<<<< hard sciences for difficulty, but I'd think most people applying to LS would have a humanities/social sciences background so it wouldn't put someone at a significant disadvantage. They're definitely selecting for very high GPAs this cycle, but that person's profile makes me think there's something else going on in addition. (Also, I skimmed that guy's LSN profile and didn't see any red flags to explain the WL.)
He is also a retake of 163 -> 175.pissantvache wrote:yeah, major case of tl;dr on that one. Perhaps he had lukewarm recommendations? Totally agree, part of me was dreading riding out a WL over the summer. Glad it is all finalized. Thanks for the comment on my avatar. I love it. I have a T-shirt with the same thing on it.
