I applied around 10/28 (not sure the exact date), and I got the status checker this morning. How long does it usually take to receive a decision?

Anywhere from not a long time to a very long time.

Worst case, you'd make a wonderfully vague admissions rep.

Haha, I would love to tell you to expect to hear back sometime in the next couple weeks, and it might, but it still could be early February before you hear of your decision.

No worries, I totally understand. Wasn't really hoping for a clear answer anyway haha

My status checker changed to decision, 11/19, three days after i logged into the admitted students site for the first time (i do it several times a day now just to make sure they didn't make a mistake).

*edit. still haven't received my package though.

Also, 167/3.79 got in yesterday RD. But she's an engineering student and had some pretty great softs. Still gives me hope!

People have stated that they were able to log into the admitted student's site at all times of the day for the first time.

My status checker switched to "Decision" today (11/19), and I can now get into the admitted students site!

Went complete on 10/21.

A minor obstacle in the quest for neurotic nirvana.

All UMich students (including undergrads) are issued a UM-ID number that they keep for their entire career at the University; it's in some ways like Michigan's mini-Social Security number system. So if a Michigan undergrad applies to the Law School, they keep their UM-ID and can use it in the status checker. People who weren't associated with the University prior get a randomly issued new one. I would assume that this new one will become the permanent UM-ID for those who choose to attend.

Just was able to log into the Admitted Students' Section! I was at 75th for LSAT and GPA, wrote a 'Why Michigan?' and another supplemental essay, and am not instate or URM (I think that preemptively answers most questions people would ask).

i guess i am probably looking at rejection / waitlist, since people who applied later than me seem to be getting decisions. f*ck, i reaaaaaaaaallly wanted michigan so badly.....

I'm feeling the same way. A bit concerning, since I'm at/above 75th percentile for LSAT/GPA (but not at YP levels) and wrote a Why Michigan essay.
