Re: Harvard 2010!
i actually got 0x on games (173), i just decided a law degree wouldn't take me on a career path i wanted. HLS is attractive though, i wonder if its actually better for business than some of the lower top-tier MBA (ex nyu, carneige mellon, etc)

Re: Harvard 2010!
Harvard Law is not "better for business" than any top-tier MBA programs, but Harvard Medical School beats out a couple of them. If you want a law program that is better for business than NYU's MBA program you need to go to Yale. Interestingly, NYU Law is better than Yale Law if you want to study medicine. As for learning law at a medical school, obviously Georgetown is the way to go.

I'm getting nervous for the interview
I feel like I need to have some impressive response for why I want to go to law school

The feeling I got from reading this paragraph reminds me of the feeling I used to get from reading the ridiculously poorly worded LR stimuli.nattybro wrote:Harvard Law is not "better for business" than any top-tier MBA programs, but Harvard Medical School beats out a couple of them. Re: Harvard 2010!
It's not really genius because HLS probably does rival some top MBA programs for business opportunities, provided one already has experience in a business field. The sarcasm responded as though the original statement was obviously false, yet it was not so clearly wrong.VoidSix wrote:I think you guys just fell for some genius sarcasm.

Just trying to lighten things up, no offense intended GeePee. A Harvard Law degree is a great thing to have in your pocket no matter what field you go into. Best of luck with whatever you decide.

It's hard to decipher sarcasm/seriousness from someone who evidently drinks Natty.

Close, but the reference is actually Natty Boh (national bohemian), an exquisite and storied brew from the "Land of Pleasant Living" (Baltimore MD)

You'll have to forgive me; I go to a state school with its fair share of fraternities. All of which are filled with a different kind of "natty bros".

This, but switch "Texas" with "Colorado." Even with all our microbrews, I miss have a Yuengling during Steelers games.akowis wrote:Yuengling or nothing. I wish we had it in Texas

You just have to do it online. No printing and signing and sending necessary. This is true for all apps (unless you apply ED somewhere; that form usually has to be hand signed and mailed).somewhatwayward wrote:^

Re: Harvard 2010!
Regarding my previous post:
the top consulting firm in the world, Mckinsey, is pretty chummy with HLS. one of their "founding fathers" was an HLS grad. there are also opps in i-banking, check out this post about an event with one of the top banks in the world:
http://www.law.harvard.edu/calendar/car ... 3d86292852
These opportunities don't happen for say a BU MBA grad. If your goal was a great biz job and to develop connections etc I think HLS would be the better choice. At some point, HLS overtakes some MBA programs even for business although this crossover point is probably beyond the top 15 or so schools.
of course, you would have to go in knowing that you might fail and get stuck in biglaw, which you may see as better than a "lesser" mba job anyway. certainly the pay and prestige would be higher.

Re: Harvard 2010!
Looks like JR is going to be out of the office this week….I hope this doesn't mean that JR2's are going to be postponed because this wait is killing me.
"Quick note – I’m out of the country most of this week. As such we’ll have a short hiatus on the blog. We’ll be back up and running first thing Monday – enjoy the HLS Admissions Blog version of a long weekend!"
