That doesn't seem right.... they just increased the tuition for 2016-2017...
A current student said they won't be in session again until our 2L year.

Okay, but that still doesn't seem right that there would be a tuition increase this year if there was just one last year...... Is it possible that since the September date would be after the start of the school year, they can't change the tuition until the following year?

It's very likely going to take effect next year. I can see all sorts of problems with the University accepting people from all over the country/world and then having to turn around mid-february and be like "so, about that tuition..."

If there's anyone else who's struggling to afford flights to the March 1st ASD, even with the stipend, I'm flying into Dallas and driving down to save on $$$. Happy to coordinate and split the drive if there's anyone else who is interested in that route (it's a 3.5 hour drive).

My application is showing as "received" ("complete and ready for review as long as we have received your CAS report") but not "complete." Does this mean my CAS never went through? It's been 8 weeks and LSAC shows it as sent...

UT's status checker will never change from that screen until you are accepted or rejected. They probably received it a few days after the CAS report was sent.

Oh thank god. I can go back to just staring at my phone and waiting for it to ring.

It'll be a 512 number. They seem to call randomly since there hasn't been an acceptance wave since I think early-December. My call was around 2pm central on a Friday. I know some people got calls during the week after 5 or so.

They're the only realistic-chance school I haven't heard back from and they're also my top choice, depending on money, so every day is getting worse :'')

Adding to this, I got the call on a Monday around 5:30 p.m. my time, which is 6:30 in Texas and I'd been complete around two and a half months before I got the call!

Try Spirit airlines to Houston, its closer than Dallas and usually* cheap.

Spirit airlines charges for everything (including carry-ons) so just be aware of that.

This is true, just bring one carry on, or like my sis in law pack everything in the free backpack (idk how she does it).
Flights direct to Austin are insane, luckily they're renovating our airport by adding more parking... because that's what we need.

I'm in the same boat. I hit the 11-week mark today. I was hoping going on that damn tour would remind them that I exist...

Thanks! Dallas actually ended up being much cheaper after factoring in the car rental! (And after being stuck on the tarmac in hot Fort Lauderdale for 3 hours on Spirit because they lost the flight log...I just can't do Spirit in good faith anymore...)

I got in only a week ago, so I know it's normal to have still not heard about schollys, but I'm wondering if y'all know that if you don't get one, do they tell you? Or if you hear nothing does that just mean you didn't get anything?

They told me I got nothing.

I was accepted via phone call a couple days ago and have been added to the C/O 2020 Facebook page but my status checker remains "under review" and I haven't gotten any official email other than the one about the Facebook page?? Did it take any of y'all more than a couple days to get something more official after being accepted?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
