Had my interview today, was super chill, and have to say that I enjoyed it more than almost any other school's. Nothing to be worried about if you are still yet to interview, unless my interviewer was an outlier.

After perusing law school numbers it seems like the difference between a 170 and a 169 is night and Day, so I'm not getting my hopes up anymore

Checking in. Has anyone who applied in late Oct RD being accepted or interviewed yet? I applied on the 30th and still no answer. Should I be worried?

I sent mine 10/25 and was just interviewed last week. As far as I know, no RDs have been accepted yet (looks like the first RD acceptances will be mid-January ish). Also not everyone admitted is interviewed.Daydreamer15 wrote:Checking in. Has anyone who applied in late Oct RD being accepted or interviewed yet? I applied on the 30th and still no answer. I've seen two schools of thought on this thread and last year's. One is that interviews are random so don't worry about it. The second is that interviews are generally only for borderline candidates/people with something peculiar on their apps or for named scholarship candidates. I fall into the first category (C&F disclosure, the conversation about it went very well)

An interviewer said no RD applicants are getting accepted before mid-Jan. and not everyone has to be interviewed/will be interviewed. Essentially, an interview is sufficient for a decision -- but not necessary.Daydreamer15 wrote:Checking in. Has anyone who applied in late Oct RD being accepted or interviewed yet? *cringe* I can't believe I just used that terminology.

hahahaha yet is the perfect way to explain the interview role in the Columbia Admission Cycle.brinicolec wrote:An interviewer said no RD applicants are getting accepted before mid-Jan. and not everyone has to be interviewed/will be interviewed. Although Ive heard ppl got in last year w/o interview. Are interviews sufficient this year to know you will be admitted or the conditional relationship is not that strong?Assasindowntheavenue wrote:That was an awesome use of logicbrinicolec wrote:An interviewer said no RD applicants are getting accepted before mid-Jan. and not everyone has to be interviewed/will be interviewed. Re: Columbia c/o 2020 applicants (2016-2017)
Hey all, just toured Columbia! My fiancé is from New York, I am from a Chicago, so this is definitely a top choice. The law school building is hideous as everyone said. However, the campus is amazing. You feel like you are on a real campus, but in New York City living. The mood in the building was tense as it was finals time. The people working in the library were very nice and offered to answer any questions/tour me around.
Overall a great impression. Heading to NYU now to check it out!
