Checking in. I visited the school and spoke to L. Fleck. She said a few days after May 15 is when they will begin making the bulk of their offers, then finish up most of the offers after June 15. In terms of timing LOCI those are the dates I'm keeping in mind. ALSO, I have read that ND accepts a sizable portion of their incoming class through the waitlist. Here's to hoping it's TLSers

Anyone on the waitlist hear anything this week?
I got an email asking if I qualified for a specific scholarship program on Monday then nothing since.
This time last year looks like they cleared the waitlist and had their class set.

Eh well they prob thought it was a random fluke the first time so only took minimal precautions that didnt work (or secretly wanted to keep 200 so they could justify doing w.e they want the next year) who knows

I haven't heard of anyone getting released but I was also informed that this would be the week they made decisions and I haven't seen any movement.
Anyone else?

Yeah there's no way we wanted another year of 200+. That's probably why waitlist movement is kind of slow this year.

We might have to wait for some more dominoes to fall. Cornell and Duke pulled a lot of reverse splitters off their WLs so maybe some of those shifts will work in our favor

If your status checker says receiving waitlist consideration I'm assuming your still good. However if it says decision made and no seat deposits then you got dinged..
At least that's how it has been going this cycle.

I got a weird message not considering waitlist and that I did not reply that I wanted to stay on the waitlist by the deadline but I did and it says if it's error and that I wanted to stay to let them know as soon as possible. Anyone got that message in their status checker ? It doesn't say decision made on my status checker

I reached out to them on Monday and they got back to me today saying they have taken very few people of the wait list and that they were unsure how many more they would take but it would not be very many and that things had been very slow on purpose.
But yes they were still considering some.

well not sure who actively checks here so figured I'd tag everyone who has lived in SB (I think y'all have, kinda skimmed quick to grab names just now)
How would y'all say the winters are? I know there's lake effect which I had in upstate NY but not sure if its to the same degree. Is there a lot of snow throughout the winters? I currently have a cobalt coupe (FWD i believe) and am thinking about buying my buddy's grand cherokee. Partly bc I want a Jeep, but partly to deal with driving easier in the weather. If I get it am I going to be thinking how silly/unnecessary it was come winter?
While I was still upstate NY I had a car with 4wd and it was great driving in the snow and def came in handy where my current car would have been a big pain (granted I know I did much more stuff up there than I prob will in SB) but not sure how similar the winters will be.
