Denied today.
161/3.72

BU was my first choice, so now I'm not sure what to do.

You have a good GPA, have you used all three LSAT takes? With your GPA, the retake/reapply could do wonders for you.

I took the LSAT twice any got a 161 both times, so I'm afraid that might be my score. I thinking that I will just transfer to BU after a year because I know that I will be able to do well in law school classes.

This belief is one of the biggest follies of 0Ls everywhere. There is no promise you will do well in law classes. There are countless stories of people who believed this and fluked. I personally have many friends all over who went into a law school thinking they would do well and transfer out or have great OCI chances. These same friends have now dropped out after a semester or are sitting at the bottom of their classes. Only the very top percentile in a law school will have the chance to transfer. And being in that percentile is much more difficult than you think because of the mandatory curve. I would post in the choosing thread with your options and actually get help. The people on here are only wanting to help you even if some come off very aggressive. If you want you can PM asking questions about anything or explaining your thought process. But going to school with the plan of transferring is one of the worst things you can do.

Thank you for the information. I wasn't trying to be rude in my prior response regarding my plan to transfer, but I apologize if I offended you. I truely do appreciate any help that you or anyone else gives me!

In regards to my thought process, I personally feel that I will be able to perform better in classes than by taking the LSAT again. I finished undergrad for the sole purpose of attending law school, so I am not sure what I would do if I took a year off. It is good to know, though, that many people with the same plan have not succeeded in transferring, so I will definitely take that into consideration.

Thanks again!!!

Wasn't taken as rude or offensive at all. Taking a year off could also benefit you employment wise. Its not too late to be a paralegal for a year which would be excellent WE.

Waitlisted just now via email. Probably won't ride it out but pleased with the non-ding. And most importantly my cycle is finally complete! Best of luck to those waiting it out.

It's more like 75% when you factor in university-funded positions. Nonetheless still pretty solid given its ranking and the drop in class size for c/o 2015

Hello,
So I've currently been on the waitlist since the beginning of April and sent in my LOCI on April 29th. I haven't heard back yet and was wondering what you guys think of sending another update via email. Would that be annoying or strange? I don't have much of an update but I want to let the admissions team know I'm still thinking of Boston.

Thanks for the help!

I think sending another LOCI at this time is a good idea and an email would be okay. The last deposit deadline just passed so they are probably reviewing the waitlist now if they need to pull from it.

So I actually ended up sending them about a paragraph stating what my current offer is at another law school and how if accepted to BU I would withdraw immediately.
Just wanted to follow up in case this helps anyone else in the same boat!

I wonder if there has been any movement on the waitlist after the email that was sent on June 6.

I called on Monday and the lady I spoke with said there wasn't any movement at this time (the past week). She also said that they expect movement to happen through summer and that it's too soon to tell how many people will get off the waitlist because it depends on what the class looks like as a whole by the time class starts.

I called today and the lady in admissions told me we may see movement around July 15th (I think that is another deposit deadline).

I hope they say something soon since it's already July, but I have a feeling they'll start really letting us know in August since they start classes in September.

So, any news?? I also called admissions over a week ago, who told me that they may see some movement on July 15. Has anyone heard anything? It's already the July 18th and the other law school to which I have submitted my seat deposit is all the way in California and classes begin in mid-August. What to do??

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
