I try to like Oscar Wilde, but he just bores me. It's like the story is just a way for him cram in every witty observation he can think of, and his observations don't feel all that witty to me. LOL women and marriage, right?schocolate wrote:What didn't you like about The Picture of Dorian Gray?dumdeedum wrote: Kafka on the Shore is excellent! I was reading The Picture of Dorian Gray and not enjoying it, so I switched to I Am Malala, which I have to will myself to put down at night.
That's just me, though, and I never even finished, so...

Re: 0L Ladies - Female C/O 2019 Applicants
I had similar fears about head shape/hair pulled back so I went with half up/half down and made sure my hair was in front of my shoulders, if that makes sense. But if you're more comfortable with your hair in a bun, that will probably help with nerves and make you less distracted, in which case, go for it.
also I'm sure you've already googled, but I trust the advice from these two blogs:
http://www.caphillstyle.com/capitol/201 ... ttire.html
http://corporette.com/2010/02/25/how-to ... ence-call/
TL;DR: Suit jacket/solid color top, a little more make up than usual helps prevent you from looked washed out, and put your laptop on a stack of books to fix your line of sight.
Good luck!

I really wished I had worn a smidge of bronzer once I caught a look at myself during my interview

I'm really happy with the suit I found at Ann Taylor, but it wasn't cheap. I'd keep an eye out for sales (I'm actually going to check them out now... need a second one).cheesy143 wrote:Hey everyone! Update, you can get 40% off select full price suits on the website through next Sunday (I'm assuming in stores, too, if you have one nearby).slippin_jimmy wrote:I'm really happy with the suit I found at Ann Taylor, but it wasn't cheap. J.Crew also has 40% off sale styles for the next week! I like their suits a lot plus they have a ton of cute professional dressescheesy143 wrote:Hey everyone! So one of my Christmas presents was money to buy a suit for lawschool. Anyone have suggestions of where I would get a nice suit

YES. ABSOLUTELY DO J CREW. Although I would recommend J Crew Factory, it's cheaper and they usually have sales (and you get discounts if you sign up for their emails).clurrburr wrote:J.Crew also has 40% off sale styles for the next week! Other good places include Express, Banana Republic, and as mentioned, Ann Taylor. If you're bargain hunting, you can occasionally find a nice suit at a thrift store (I got an Ann Taylor one for $20).
Also, make sure you get your suit tailored--it makes a huge difference. If it's a skirt suit, match the skirt's fabric with the suit jacket. Don't try to reuse another one. If you choose to wear hose, going one size up can make it more comfortable.
Hope this helps

I used to work at Express and I was going to recommend them as well! Not as expensive as J.Crew or other places so take the extra money and get it tailored. I buy a ton of stuff at J. Crew factory and do not notice a quality difference between them and J. Crew and its a fraction of the price.RedWhite&Blonde wrote:YES. ABSOLUTELY DO J CREW. I wear suits all the time and have not had issues with quality from J. Crew Factory. Over two years, one of my skirts did rip near the slit in the back, but I blame that on my team's highly physical warm up routine rather than the skirt itself. J. Crew did refund me for the skirt anyways, two years after--they have great customer service.jumbo2016 wrote:I used to work at Express and I was going to recommend them as well!
