dinged via email. figured it was not good news as I interviewed in early november and silence since... fairly surprised though as I'm above both 75ths, and my interview seemed to go well.

Did you write a "Why UVA?" Sounds like YP, but I thought YP was supposed to be through WL rather than dings.

that's what confused me as well. lf it was yp, I figured I was going to be WL'd. I wrote a Why UVA.

Also confusing how my interviewer kept stressing how much he loved my application ... Oh well! UVAs a great school, best of luck to everyone else.

No, I didnt. It could be YP, but i first went to school years ago and did terribly so my LSDAS GPA is closer to a 3.0. That could be it.

Me too. I'm going to send in a LOCI using the stuff I would have written in my why essay.
Do you know how many people would be taken off the waitlist every year?
I have no clue, but am curious. Hopefully someone ITT can answer this.

Doesn't seem like a whole lot of people get taken off the waitlist. There are some stats in the 2017 waitlist thread: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... a+waitlist

Ah. Yes, LSDAS GPA is 99% of what matters. Sorry about the decision!

Dinged this morning. 3.8/170. Not terribly surprising, since I interviewed in early September.

Still, kinda hurts. First one of the cycle.

W/L in this wave. I'm a splitter. PM for Stats.
Thinking I'll write a LOCI and see what happens. UVA would definitely be my top choice, just not sure I could afford it.

I'm guessing there is very little chance of getting $ off the waitlist?

Best of luck riding out the waitlist! Would you mind if I asked for your stats?

JFC people. Nimpchimpsky's relevant GPA is a 3.0. Nobody cares about your degree GPA. That ding is not YP. The 3.8/170 ding, on the other hand, is surprising.
