"This year has been especially thrilling as we were fortunate to see some of the most competitive applications to date."

I heard similar things from quite a few other law schools, so much for the hype of easy cycle and drop of LSAT takers.
Received it too. It got my hopes up as I'm still waiting for scholarship information before I decide on whether to pay the deposit or not.
call them to ask about scholarship award, since the first deposit is only a few days away

Wait so you're telling me the " Your application was no exception and the admissions committee is keenly interested in the potential you will contribute to our law school." wasn't real?

Is there a SMU def attending forum yet? I know there's a FB group for admitted students, anyone know of one for attending students?

congrats!! when did you receive your packet? I was admitted a few days after you. I live like half an hour from smu, so hoping to get my packet today or tomorrow. Also excited that they are still giving out about the same amount of $ as earlier in the month. *fingers crossed*

Applying after the deadline is never the end of the road. It will hurt your chances, yes, as they will begin to fill off the wait list. However, as to the LSAC problems, I would call the school tomorrow and ask them.
I agree. SMU isn't going to accept anything printed from preview. Has to come from LSAC. Call the school and try to explain what the hold up is. Best of luck.

Just curious, when is the first seat deposit due? I have not gotten a decision yet (and I know acceptance is a long shot for me) but I hate to rule SMU out until they actually tell me no. I hope that I will hear something soon, and figure that more decisions will come out after the first deposit is due.

I think we have similar situations here, did you apply FT, PT, or both?

Originally I applied for FT but I changed it to both a few weeks ago.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
