Not entirely, but yes, the last sentence is true.

People just need to remember not to get defensive about others candidly discussing a school's employment prospects/comparing it to other schools just because they attend that school. It's great to be enthusiastic and praise the school you attend, but let's be open to honest discussions that are pertinent to everyone's cycle and evetual decision. My saying that most of the T14 places better in NY than Fordham does not mean I hate Fordham, nor does it mean that there are no valid reasons to attend Fordham if you got into a better school. It means exactly what I said, no more and no less.
Na bro. She's not getting defensive. You're just being obtuse. Let me delineate things for you. Someone asked why someone would want to attend Fordham over a t14. Jen reminded people that choosing a law school goes beyond placement and the desire to stay in NYC, not uproot an SO so they can keep a great job, and not paying for two separate homes could be reason for an individual above and beyond placement and ranking. Your response is wharbagarbrlPLACEMENT, which is completely irrelevant to her point. You're trying to respond to AMD and Jen with one argument when they're making two different points, though AMD's point that a top 1/3 Fordham grad places better than 1/3 CCNP in NYC is inaccurate.

Congrats to all Fordham admits, however.

Right. I think the posts speak for themselves, and you appear to have missed a number of them. For example, THIS is the post I initially responded to (with a subtle joke, no less):
AMD wrote: Do you believe that Fordham places better in NY than these 11 in this economy?
Georgetown, Michigan, Cornell, NYU, Columbia, HYS, Chicago, Northwestern or Penn
Also note that it was she who responded to me, not me responding to her (or even referencing her original "other factors" post at all). Then there was the "I'm going to insult your counting ability and reading comprehension even though I'm the one not comprehending."

Enough of this nonsense please.

What happened in here?

Fordham is a T30. It's a good T30, along with BU/BC, but it is a T30.

First time poster here. Can this debate end now, please? So much of deciding where to attend law school, or any grad program, is about personal preference and related factors. Therefore, telling someone why they are wrong or right to feel a certain way about particular schools is an utterly worthless exercise, not to mention a rather annoying one for those on the side lines (no offense). Let's all move on, pretty please?

Currently waitlisted since 12/1. I would love to be a part of the Fordham community. I love the program. I think the admissions staff have been incredibly helpful and informative. The Fordham students have been amazingly available on this thread. Lastly, although at times it has been chippy as of late and maybe even a little negative, we have to expect and respect the diverse opinions on this thread (which makes for lively debates :P )

Congrats to all accepted...enjoy it!! Hopefully I will hear good news, as well and make it out to ASW!!

Does this bother anyone else? Not only does Fordham refuse to provide contraception in their health care plans, but they are doing everything they can to delay implementation of the new health care law... Kinda makes me question the values of the school.
Yeah it's pretty wack, but I'm with JD on this one...I am never "unpleasantly" reminded that Fordham is a strict Catholic school.

One of the organizations at school sponsored a health event right next to campus where doctors gave out free prescriptions in response to Fordham students who have Fordham health care not being able to get a birth control prescription. I'm sure there will be more events like this one.

Also, I really, really want Happy Endings to get in. Admissions Committee sometimes looks through these threads. So maybe you should post your numbers out there for them to see. :)

Also, please keep in mind that the mindset at Fordham Law is VERY different from the mindset of the undergrad. Different people running each school.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. Just don't wanna seem like I'm pestering the AdComms. I'll get on that LOCI right now.

Better employment prospects, better networking, higher salary, getting in with a more prestigious law firm...
Really? Columbia and NYU have better employment prospects with top firms, better networking, higher salary, etc. compared to Fordham? You don't say...

Gemini, that is really kind of you to say!! Unfortunately, I don't feel my numbers reflect positively on my candidacy  ...I'm hoping my 3yrs of professional work experience at the U.N. and other soft factors (ie personal experiences and sincere LOCI, LORs etc) paint a better picture of not only my character and drive, but also my ability to succeed in law school and find potential employment afterwards . Either way, thank you for the nice words of encouragement. If the AdComms are looking at these threads...then let me first apologize for my corny attempts of humor above :P
