Na bro. She's not getting defensive. You're just being obtuse. Let me delineate things for you. Someone asked why someone would want to attend Fordham over a t14. Jen reminded people that choosing a law school goes beyond placement and the desire to stay in NYC, not uproot an SO so they can keep a great job, and not paying for two separate homes could be reason for an individual above and beyond placement and ranking. Your response is wharbagarbrlPLACEMENT, which is completely irrelevant to her point. You're trying to respond to AMD and Jen with one argument when they're making two different points, though AMD's point that a top 1/3 Fordham grad places better than 1/3 CCNP in NYC is inaccurate.Cornelius wrote:Not entirely, but yes, the last sentence is true.TemporarySaint wrote: That's not what Jen was trying to argue. For those who don't get CN Fordham is the best choice for those who want to attend a school in NYC.
People just need to remember not to get defensive about others candidly discussing a school's employment prospects/comparing it to other schools just because they attend that school. It's great to be enthusiastic and praise the school you attend, but let's be open to honest discussions that are pertinent to everyone's cycle and evetual decision. My saying that most of the T14 places better in NY than Fordham does not mean I hate Fordham, nor does it mean that there are no valid reasons to attend Fordham if you got into a better school. It means exactly what I said, no more and no less.
Congrats to all Fordham admits, however.
