There's a significant possibility there will be an economic meltdown in Europe in 2012. A reasonable person would factor this into his law school plans.

There is always some calamity lurking in the future, it's part of the nature of capitalism.

If Europe weren't faring as poorly as it is, I would agree. But to ignore a giant problem right in front of you is misguided.

Also misguided to apply a nebulous threat to your own circumstances on a 3-year horizon. Your goal now is to get into the best law school you can for as little money as possible. You should worry more about job prospects while/after you enroll, not before. For all you know, you could wait a year or two, get into a better school, get mediocre grades, and it won't really matter if it's a shitty economy.

Hey everyone, does anybody know if BU flat out denied entry to any of the Distinguished Scholar Binding Early decision apps?? Or was it the standard operating procedure that every single applicant that was not awarded the scholarship was automatically "returned to the application pool and will be reevaluated during the regular application cycle". Yes, I am indeed the latest one at this blog to find out that I was deferred to the regular app cycle, just was wondering if there is any sort of silver lining I could take out of this.

Saying the economy may be better in 2014 than 2013 is an "excuse" for being denied ED acceptance to BU? The word you're looking for is "silver lining". Gotta try to look at the bright side.

Non-ED but packet came in the mail yesterday with $15k/year.

Congrats! Got in the same day as you, got the big red folder with some information in it but no scholarship offer. Did you get them separately?

Got them the same day. It was in the red folder.

Definitely could be that. I have no idea. William and Mary is doing similar things- I got half as much as some people with worse numbers than me. I swear it's like "pin the scholarship on the student."

I hate all this political jargon that they send out. Stop hiding behind pretty words and tell me how you really feel!

FWIW, so far my complete dates are 11/16, 12/5, 12/13 and 12/14. I wonder what they're up to.
