Nebulous? I must be talking about a different Euro crsis.tennisking88 wrote:Also misguided to apply a nebulous threat to your own circumstances on a 3-year horizon. Your goal now is to get into the best law school you can for as little money as possible. You should worry more about job prospects while/after you enroll, not before. For all you know, you could wait a year or two, get into a better school, get mediocre grades, and it won't really matter if it's a shitty economy.IronSkadden wrote:If Europe weren't faring as poorly as it is, I would agree. Hey everyone, does anybody know if BU flat out denied entry to any of the Distinguished Scholar Binding Early decision apps?? Or was it the standard operating procedure that every single applicant that was not awarded the scholarship was automatically "returned to the application pool and will be reevaluated during the regular application cycle". Yes, I am indeed the latest one at this blog to find out that I was deferred to the regular app cycle, just was wondering if there is any sort of silver lining I could take out of this.

Saying the economy may be better in 2014 than 2013 is an "excuse" for being denied ED acceptance to BU? The word you're looking for is "silver lining". Gotta try to look at the bright side.JoeMo wrote:+1InGoodFaith wrote:We're all mad about getting deferred, but c'mon dude. No need to make excuses.

I got mine separately about a week later, 22k a year. It's weirdly random in when they send it.unicorny wrote:Got them the same day. It was in the red folder.bobbyh1919 wrote:Congrats! Don't know. Perhaps Scarlet can chime in. Her LSN says TFA and non-URM Hispanic so maybe that?msblaw89 wrote:Whoa...that .02 really made the difference? Or whatmijenks wrote:Indeed.msblaw89 wrote: That's a nice one

Definitely could be that. I have no idea. William and Mary is doing similar things- I got half as much as some people with worse numbers than me. I swear it's like "pin the scholarship on the student."mijenks wrote:Don't know. Perhaps Scarlet can chime in. so apparently 3.53 is some sort of scholarship threshold? who knows what they're up to.

Any of the other ED people who got deferred yesterday go complete yesterday again? So far I've got 4 complete dates.

Negative, mine's still steady at 12/13 and I just noticed they added this to the header:BigBlueLaw wrote:Any of the other ED people who got deferred yesterday go complete yesterday again? So far I've got 4 complete dates.
Thank you for applying to the Boston University Distinguished Scholars Binding Early Decision Program. We appreciate your enthusiasm for BU Law and the fact that you completed your application early. Although we are unable to offer you admission at this time, we are impressed with your qualifications and would like to hold your application for review during the regular admissions cycle. Please feel free to send any updates to your application to bulawadm@bu.edu. If you have updated transcripts they should be sent to LSAC so that we will receive an updated report.

I hate all this political jargon that they send out. FWIW, so far my complete dates are 11/16, 12/5, 12/13 and 12/14. I wonder what they're up to.
