Does anyone know if they require parents' info for the FAFSA? I've looked all over their site but I'm really good at missing things that are otherwise out in the open ...

I'm sure they just want a completed FAFSA, and the FAFSA itself will tell you whether you need to put your parents' information (if you're a dependent, if I remember correctly).

I'm sure they just want a completed FAFSA, and the FAFSA itself will tell you whether you need to put your parents' information (if you're a dependent, if I remember correctly).

Because we're applying to professional school, we all qualify as independent students and so by FAFSA standards do not need to include parents' financial info. However, some law schools want to see your parents' info in order to truly determine need-based aid since so many applicants are right out of undergrad and are still in reality dependents. W&L does not need this because, as one of their admissions officers told me in an email, they do not give need-based aid, they only make sure you're qualified for federal student loans.

I got an email letting me know that my admission decision will be rendered this week. Does scholarship info come at that time, or do they also mail me a package and that's when I find out?

They mail scholarship info a couple of weeks after the admission letter comes in.

Yeah they'll keep you posted through email as to when you should be receiving scholarship info.

I find out tomorrow. I visited the school last Friday. Everyone is so freakin' nice and I immediately felt the sense of community there. I was approached by many students who just wanted to know a bit about me. The atmosphere there would make me want to attend regardless of their rankings. I want to get in so bad, even though with my numbers I'm likely headed for the Waitlist. If I'm lucky enough to get in, I probably won't get any money. I know I can go to others schools taking out very little in loans, but I still really want to get in.

got my scholarship letter..$40,000/yr with a 3.25 stip. that'll definitely be hard to turn down so i guess i should make a visit soon!

I'm not sure, but a top 70% stipulation doesn't seem too daunting, especially if you look at their scholarship retention stats.

Did anyone get a blank mailing for today?? My status checker says 1/25 but there's no description. Plus, is anyone waiting on the WLSO mailing and the dean's letters?! I don't think USPS likes me anymore.

Yes, I agree that their stipulations are quite "comforting," but having no stipulation is even more comforting.

I hear on 2/2 as well. I have good numbers for the school but it is the first one I am expecting to hear back from as I sent in applications late.

My application complete day is 1/16 - is this a normal turn around for W&L?
