Kinda sad that San Diego dropped so low in the rankings..was considering it since I got a 70k scholarship but I don't think so any more...such a nice place also

This is an incredibly terrible reason to not pick USD. USD is only good for San Diego anyway, and it's reputation there isnt going to change any time soon.BluePlanet1787 wrote:Kinda sad that San Diego dropped so low in the rankings..was considering it since I got a 70k scholarship but I don't think so any more...such a nice place also

+1 rankings below 50 dont really mean much except t1 t2 t3 etc... USD is still the only top 100 school in san diego.helloperson wrote:This is an incredibly terrible reason to not pick USD. My status also changed from Complete to Decision Rendered on 4/4 (letter sent same day). Nothing here yet but I don't see any information fro deposit money on the bottom left of Status Checker like other schools.
I'm assuming this means deny?

Yeah but if I was admitted wouldn't it say when the first deposit is due on the status checker? It's blank for mehelloperson wrote:No. First deposit is due end of April.hockeypro7 wrote:My status also changed from Complete to Decision Rendered on 4/4 (letter sent same day). That's funny, I was set to submit for Temple today, but then I got my USD letter today. Still no financial info but now I'm even more confused about where to go.

Would anyone have any idea how USD places with in federal or state agencies versus Hastings. I mean leaning between USD w/23k or Hastings with none.

i don't know about that, i think hastings is more well known/respected. don't get me wrong i'm going to usd (who can afford san fran anyway?) but if it's important to you then you should do the research and get the numbers...caligulove wrote:don't be craze. take ze monies.ohcanada wrote:Would anyone have any idea how USD places with in federal or state agencies versus Hastings. The way I look at it: uc Hastings will compete with Berkeley and Stanford, and will lose out to grads of those schools within that region. Who does USD have to compete with? Mostly just an insular legal market.smittelman6 wrote:i don't know about that, i think hastings is more well known/respected. don't get me wrong i'm going to usd (who can afford san fran anyway?) but if it's important to you then you should do the research and get the numbers...caligulove wrote:don't be craze. take ze monies.ohcanada wrote:Would anyone have any idea how USD places with in federal or state agencies versus Hastings. Re: University of San Diego 2011
as much as i'd like to agree (optimistically), i've spoken to many 2Ls and 3Ls who say that they're competing with USC and UCLA grads. don't underestimate the fact that san diego is an awesome place to live. good for us for the next three years (), but after that, it does increase the competition in a legal market that's already not the largest in cali by far.helloperson wrote:The way I look at it: uc Hastings will compete with Berkeley and Stanford, and will lose out to grads of those schools within that region. that being said, if you work hard and don't just sit there expecting a job to fall in your lap, i do think that it's not quite as dismal as maybe some TLSers make it seem.

Hey, for the people who heard about scholly money, did you have to fill the Institutional Financial Aid Application form in the acceptance packet and return it before you heard about scholarship money, or did they just notify you (without having to fill the form)? Thanks!

Just got a WL from USC and UCLA. Right now I'm leaning strongly towards taking a year off if I don't get in from the WLs and EDing to gtown next cycle, but unfortunately I lose health insurance if I'm not in school.

Did anyone here also apply to Cal Western? If so, do you know when the deposit deadline is?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I sent them an email telling them I wanted to withdraw. They replied with "Dear Samantha, Thank you for notifying us about your change in plans. We have withdrawn your application for admission. We wish you the best in all your future endeavors." This would be fine except my name isn't Samantha, it's Sarah. Close, SD.

Does USD Law call its students who have been accepted?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
