Accepted last night at 3 AM

I just called the admissions office about a cane id since I never received anything and the woman told me that when a decision is made I will get an email w my id info....is this correct?

Whoa. I got my CaneID when they acknowledged receipt of my application back in October. Still no decision for me.

Me too―another $24K scholly spot is open! It is killing me to withdraw. Giving up 75° for 1° and a tropical lifestyle on the shores of the Atlantic for the outskirts of Detroit and Lake Erie. Plus, trading $42K in debt for $160K, and living costs. Somehow this really feels dumb

The other side is that I signed an ED. I definitely learned that one cannot just say “I’ve had a change of heart.” No matter what you read, it does not work that way.

I certainly wish the law school ranking publications would give Miami its rightful position in the top 30! Best of luck to “U.”

Got the e-mail to check my status. Told that my application is being held. I'm assuming this is the same as a waitlist?

The way I understand it, they are similar but when your application is being held they have not made a decision and are waiting to decide until they are closer to the app deadline. With a wait list, you are literally put on a list and you get in if others who have been accepted withdraw.

Others, feel free to correct me. I'm not 100% on this...

If you don't mind sharing, what are your numbers?

158/3.24 so I am at least somewhat disappointed in my application being held. I know I don't have auto-admit numbers for Miami but I was feeling somewhat confident of an acceptance. Maybe a little over confident. Time for a LOCI and the waiting game I guess...

Being on hold means you gotta wait until at least April until they review your file again. It's really not a pleasant wait because they will review all the other applications until they come back to those who were put on hold. In the next few months you will see that many people will be put in your situation also. I speak based on my experience last year.

I'm seriously considering, although I'm praying for a last minute scholly offer. If I go, I'll more than likely stay in my apartment right next to campus

I was admitted on 12/28 and i have a 3.1, 163. Is it odd that I havent received any scholarship notice? From what ive seen on LSN, i would think I would have gotten at least 20K a year with some stipulations.

I have 157 and 3.79, so Hypno Toad getting a scholarship (congrats, boilerup) has given me hope. I was accepted on 12-9 and haven't heard about any cash money yet.

What's up with the online status checker? It shows me absolutely nothing. I log in and it brings me to a blank page with no status. I called and the woman who answered told me that it's a problem they are trying to resolve.... Anyone else have the same problem?

Other people are having other types of problems with the online status checker. Many people haven't even gotten their login and passwords yet. I wouldn't be surprised if they were having trouble with the online system as a whole.
